Hi, does anyone know how i could try a different brand of hydrocodone like watson and others out their, I currently take Mallinckrodt 10/325 and get 180 count per month. People on this site has stated that other brands are better  than the mallinckrodt brand? My mallinckrodt brand wears off about every 2 and a half hours then i am in pain again . How does it work, do i have to ask my Dr, or do you ask the pharmacy. Like who carries watson and other that claim to be better. I am alittle confused. Please help me. Thank you soooooooo much.

All you have to do.....

is call around to the pharmacies in your area and they will (or should) tell you what brand they carry for any medication.  The last time I was prescribed Norco 10/325, I was given the generic brand "Watson".  I too find that they last longer than the Mallinckrodt brand.  I always thought it was all in my mind but, there have been many post regarding this.  Best of luck to you and I hope this helps.

 They might use a different

They might use a different distributor where you live but, Walgreens uses Watson for all there generic Hydrocodone combos except the 10/660. Also, if you are looking to try the qualitest and if you have insurance or want to pay the high price CVS should have them according to Qualitest when I contacted them. You will want to stay away from places like Walmart, Costco, Sams and the last time I checked Rite Aid since they all carry Mallinckrodt.

You will also have a really good chance of finding Watson at any local mom and pop non chain pharmacy. A lot of pharmacies get all bent out of shape when you call and ask what they stock. If you have the time and money to waste driving around, its best to go to different pharms with script in hand and just hand them the script and say "I was wondering what brand of generic you stock for this medication". If you get weird looks or questions just tell them that since Watson makes the name brand Norco and a generic version of the same med you wanted to try there generic version.

Finally to answer your question cinzee, Ocrage lives in Michigan, IN, OH, IL or KY. Meijer is a Michigan based chain grocery store.

they might use a different

Oh Thank you so much, you are so kind to talk to me and thank you for helping me, but the mallinckrodts " I HATE TO SAY ABSOLUTELY STINK" My med wears off in an hour and a half and then im like in pain again, having to wait for my next 4 hour dose and scared to take another until than. I'm like OMG What the heck do i do!!!!!!!!!! But anyway thanks so much and wish me luck, I will indeed try to find some other pharmacy other than rite aid, cvs, walmart and reeds. OMG Their has to be an answer. Thanks again you are much appreciated. If you think of anything else please let me know. I thank you again. Oh in your opinion which is better for the hydrocodone 10/325 Watson or Qualitest? Hope i spelled qual right. Thanks again.

Interpharm is good also

I have used Watson, Qualitest and Interpharm and like all of them. The mallinckrodt brand is definetly, in my opinion, inferior to all of these others. Just ask the pharmicist what they have and if they don't like it tell them to shove off and go somewhere else.

walgreens

i know all the walgreens in mi. carry watson.they used to carry mallickrodt, but switched over to watson hydron and oxy products.just go to there website walgreens.com and put in your zip, and go to the pharm area of site, and it will actually show ya the watson brand, way better than what your getting. rite aid is the mallis i know, pretty sure walgreens can take care of u.good luck, funny though cvs in mi carry the m's.best way i found is to just call and say you have a prescription for a medication and you want to know if they have it in stock before u leave the house and drive there, then when they say yes ask if they carry the generic, and for how much and the generic brand.most stores will give u this infor over the phone even though it is a controlled.its not like your gonna call and be a *^!&, u get more by being polite and pleasant.

When is the last time you

When is the last time you used a CVS in michigan Ocrage? They use Qualitest now. Qualitest must have recently gotten some contracts with the distributor CVS uses, because when I contacted Qualitest thats the only chain pharmacy they knew off hand that carried there generic hydros. So thats where I went when I wanted to try the Qualitest 10/500 pink tabs. In case you are ever looking in Michigan for Qualitest most all of the Sav-Mor pharmacies stock Qualitest as well, there are a few strengths that they stock Watson in though, like the 10/650. Also, Walgreens is starting to use a lot of Ethex brand for there different Oxycodone products, not all of them though just some like the 5mg ir capsules, 5mg, 10, 15, 20, 30mg tablets. Watson for the combo prodcuts though.

a while

well solo it has been awhile since i used cvs for my hrdro.i know that rite aid is mallis and just figured cvs still was,i had m367 fron cvs a yr or 2 ago and i guess just the stigma of the mallis stuck in my head never get them there again.as for thge sav-mor yes they do carry qualitest, used them for awhile and used to pay cash with them, was a good customer,UNTIL I was shorted 20 pills out of a 120 script.got home opened the bottle and a light went off.been getting rx long enough to get that feeling in my gut hey u better count these 20 is alot out of 120.sure as i expected 20 short,so i call and talk to the head pharmacist and told him my situatiuon, wasnt rude at all to him and he basically told me to call the cops or sue him.i told him it wasnt the fact that i demanded i want my 20 pills which i had right to but i just asked if he could count his norc bottle/bottles for the day and see if there was a difference like 20 pills, mosltly i told him that someone made a honest mistake or someone was stealing from the pharmacy.well he took offense and i just never went back there again.i told the guy i could care less about 20 pills its just the point. thats my take on the sav-mor lil drug stores that are in the back of like the dollar stores.haha.guess ill ask cvs next time im there, can transfer scripts and get the 30 dollar cards.man what a deal that was,now cvs and rite aid are keeping track of the transfers, they said they lost 15 million giving out those 30 dollars transfer your rx cards.if your from mi u know what im talking about. see ya

hydro's

OMG maybe i should start counting my tablets. Yeah i called cvs today and they do accept my medicare and medicaid. Here i was going to rite aid and never even knew there were different types of generics. My dumb. Ha Ha. Anyway that is crazy for ripping people off, especially like 20 pills. I wouldn't have taken that kindly. It is nice to know now days that cvs and rite aid keep track of the count. Thank you for your input, appreciate it greatly. cinzee1

endocet

I was taking oxy 10/325m in a white round tablet. Then I discovered endocet which is only available at little independent phamacies. I like it a lot better, and it easier to swallow. I am in Las Vegas, NV. By the way, CVS, Walgreens, Riteaide only carry the white round ones. I have asked and called all over town.

white round ones

the white round 10/325 oxy tabs are watsons.generic for percocet.by the way they said they did double count, thats why the qty is always circled and initialed and usually these were but not this time.oh well live and learn.if in doubt have them count them before u leave the store because after that there isnt much chance u have a case.rite aid I know is automated except for the cII but they did once mess up my xanax and i called them and they said the machine was out of calibration,so they said come back and we will fix it,that was cool of them.

One other reason to count

One other good reason to count your pills was one I hadn't thought of before. Pills that are broken and pieces missing. Not sure how it happened in my case, since they fill by handInnocent?? but I took the broken pill back to RA and showed the head pharmacist. They replaced it. I changed to another pharmacy that carries Watson now. Definitely prefer the Watson brand to Mallinkrodt.
