I already wrote two other posts on this forum regarding benzo and oxycodone addictions. Glad to say I'm off the oxycodone (although still having cravings really bad), and I switched from Klonopin to Valium to taper down off the benzos (currently at 7.5mg 3x a day going down at a rate of 2.5mg a week). But I have another problem.
A few weeks ago after work I noticed that I was having terrible mid back and abdominal pain, and also this sharp pain in the back of my neck and my legs. Waited it out a few days to see if I just pulled some muscles or something, then when it wasn't going away I decided to go see my doctor to make sure nothing was seriously wrong. She couldn't offer an explanation for the neck pain, but said that my back and abdomen pain was the result of muscle spasms, and that I probably have sciatica in my legs and prescribed Flexeril and prescription strength motrin (I told her I had a bottle at home and she didn't need to write a script for the motrin, motrins are junk for me and have never helped any pain I've ever had and give me terrible nosebleeds). She also gave me a referral to get x-rays done on my neck and back.
Got the x-rays done and called my doctor back a few days later and she said they were all normal. Ok, so everythings supposedly normal on paper, but I'm in pain. Obviously somethings wrong, or my body wouldn't be sending pain signals to my brain. Now the Flexeril helps with my back and abdominal pain but mostly just knocks me out, does nothing for my neck and legs. The pain isn't too bad now that I would think would require hardcore painkillers (being an addict/former addict probably wouldn't be the best idea to hand me a script for Vicodin anyway), but it gets worse everyday, I mean its a heck of a lot more noticeable then it was a few weeks ago. I can't even sleep on my back anymore and when I go up steps I feel like my legs are going to give out.
I just want some opinions thoughts as to what could be wrong, I'm going to make another doctor's appointment soon to see if she can do anything to help me or make this go away.
helps by reducing the imflammation, just reduce the dose, an take 1 of either tylenol or aspirin, the muscles knot up in the neck area too, the flexeril should relieve this also, a bath of hot water as hot as you can stand does wonders, stay as long as you can,

I'm tapering down at my own rate. 2.5mgs a week seems to work for me. Not experiencing too much rebound anxiety or anything like that so I thought maybe these pains were from work related things. Guess I can't be sure though.
I'd recommend taking the motrin (or a smaller dose of ibuprofen) even if you don't think it's helping painwise. It is an anti-inflammatory, as Woodstock said, but to get that effect, you need to take it around the clock for a few days. If you give it a chance to reduce some of that inflammation, you may well get a reduction in pain. Tell your doctor about the nosebleeds; she might give you a different one.
I m told but it may be a rumor, gets nosesbleeds alot from other underlying issues as hi blood pressure, or excess thinning of the blood, it might be that a lot of the generic ibuprohen brands made with a different filler that does nt agree with him, I believe I would do some research trying different brands keep a journal of how many nosebleeds happened with each an then go with the one that caused the least.
now this is my personal opinion, if your nosebleeds stop quickly, I rather deal with them then the legs cramps an knotted neck muscles,
I take 800 mgs of ibuprohen daily and its my 2nd main pain medication next to morphine sulfate, I take hyrocodone once daily for break-thru but it s the ibuprohen that keeps me limber.

This is just part of the recovery process. I think coming off of the benzo so quickly could have something to do with it. Usually doctors won't taper a patient so quickly.
