I have an RX to rill this week. Anyone get straight 10/325 oxycodone/apap?
Preferences would be of assistance to me.
YukYuk, ronin100, I have taken both and the Watsons are significantly better.
Q
Hear here on the Watsons for sure. Better than the Mallies and Endos for sure. Last three fills have been for Watsons. Talked to my Pharmacist and told her to not mess around with the other brands. She told me that other patients asked her to fill their scripts with the Watsons too.
I think its generally up to the user. Its a trial and error sort of thing. Different makers use different fillers thus making each brand slightly different from the other. IMO Endo are the best but Malinckrodt and Watson are both very close and work very well. If you have used one brand and it hasn't worked well for you tell your pharmacist to make a note that you do not want that brand dispensed to you anymore, then try the next brand 'til you find the one that works best for you. Good luck.
these questions. This is like asking people who has the best burger, McDonalds, or Burger King. Peoples opinions should not have any influence on what works for you, (i.e. see what works in your body.)
I've had 4 different generics of this medication, in addition to brand, and I have found that they're all very similar. I prefer Mallinkrodt. Had to throw that in there.
P.S. I caught that one Q- or should I say, "Sherlock."
FeliksD has a point, but only so far as you can trust the manufacturers, which I don't. In retrospect, I might have been influenced by all the dissing of the Mally brand here. It will be interesting to do a double blind test when I get my next scrip filled. I'll post the results . . . any wagers?
PS to FeliksD: 7% of what?
My experience with the Watson 10/325s has always been better than the Mal's..
I prefer Watson. Before I even knew about Mallinkrodt's reputation, I went through scripts of 5/500 vicodin and either 10/650 or 5/325 (sorry, I've been switched between 5/325, 7.5/325, and 10/650 so many times...) and was rather displeased.
I just got an account here and I am not yet sure how to post something. I know I am tacking on a different question, but I was hoping you could help me. I have a herniated disc and my old doctor always gave me hydrocodone. Usually were imprinted M357, Watson something, and I had a few different ones as well. I just moved and saw a different doctor and was given a different drug. They are round and are imprinted Endo 602, they are white, and they are scored. The bottle also says 5-325. I have heard my old pills refered to as 5's. Are these new ones the same strength? They seem to have a bit of a phycological effect so I didn't know if they were stronger. I would appreciate your help. I really don't understand what the different numbers mean.
Thanks
you were receiving M357 which is 5mg/500mg. the ones you are getting now are 5/325 (AKA Norcos). there is a smaller amount of acetaminophen in each pill, which in the long run, should save your liver. they are the same strength just the 5/325's have less tylenol in them. no change on the amount of hydrocodone in each pill...just the amount of APAP.
Hope that was helpful!
Yes. Thank you very much.
Im sorry to ^*#% in here but selfmedicatedfailure is incorrect when he/she tells you its the same medication just lower apap or (tylenolol)
according to Drugs.com and pharmer.org Endo 602 is generic for (oxycodone/apap 5-325/). That means that you have a difrent pain killer. IMO oxycodone is more effective. 5mg of oxycodone is about equal to 7.5 of hydrocodone in strength. OK? If you have anymore questions just PM me. Can somebody back me up here???
I believe that hydrocodone is Vicodan, norco and Oxycodone is percocet. So I believe you are right Deanna.
you are correct. e 602 is oxy/apap 5/325....norco is hydrocodone/apap nancie
Endocet 5mg/325 mg (generic) oxycodone
you may have gone over my head with this one; are we talking about a certain tale having to to do with Mr. Freud?
I hope you had a decent day my friend.
And yes, Deanna, you're correct. Take care.
Today I decided to forget about it - it's stupid to waste any more thought process on it.
Is better in any form of Hydrocodone. Also IMO anything made by Watson is better than anything made Mallincrock.
That's a great idea. Good for you. Think of the money you'll save in gas...Trust me, put it out of your mind, (what brand you're taking,) and they'll work like a charm.
The reason alot of people (on this board, at least,) prefer Watson, could be because of a "placebo" effect. If someone reads something, or is told something over and over and over again, they will eventually begin to believe it.
P.S. I'm with you on the BK. Plus, you get it your way.
All my best
Answer to your question:
I have had more success w/ Watson, pertaining to this type of Oxycodone Rx.
To note, you are using the term "straight oxycodone IR". I know what you are talking about but generally speaking that term is only used for the oxycodone meds that DO NOT have tylenol in them or anything else.
Best of Health to you Ronin100.
that by "straight" the OP meant generic, as opposed to Percocet (Brand.)
I went to my neighborhood pharmacy that told me they had Watson brand. Picked up my RX and they changed to Endo as well
this awesome topic from 2005....

I get the Percocet 10/325, and in my opinion the Watson brand is better than the Malli's...A lot of people may argue that, but like I said "in my opinion"....Take Care
