I've been prescribed these 15mg and so far they are so hard to find.  Im in Ohio, and I found when I would call a phar instead of making the drive all the way, due to the pain, its not that safe for me to drive, they treat you like your calling for crack or something, is there anyone in Ohio with any info, My dr. is in Englewood/Dayton area, but I live  outside of Columbus.   The reason my docs in that part of town is because I have been seeing him for over 22 yrs

 The reason most pharmacies

The reason most pharmacies are that way with Roxicodone or any Oxycodone preperation for that matter is because it is a CII medication. Since CII medications are required to be stored either in a safe or in an approved cabinet behind lock and key that is suppose to be only accessed by the pharmacist its a little more time consuming to get a stock check on CII medications, the pharmacist is usually a lot more busy than the techs. Some pharmacists will entrust a few select techs with access to there CII's and these will probably be the only stores that when you call will give you info over the phone, or if by chance you get the pharmacist on the line when you call, its easier for a tech to say "I cant give out that information over the phone" than go ask the pharmacist to check. One thing you could do is go to the nearest chain store you like and ask if they have them in stock, once they say no, ask them to call another store in the area. The Walgreens in my area are very good about finding your meds if there store doesnt have them in stock, one day a really cool pharmacist actually called like 6 stores for me. Too bad you havent found a pharmacy that you are willing to use for 22 years like ur doctor. Once you get a good relationship with your pharmacy they are usually much more friendly over the phone with you.

find a nearby wholesaler , to buy from, like i stated before if you on a regular requiment for maintaince, they will order, i believe it certain manufactors or certain requiments, does pharmacy have perocet 10s, if so ask dr to write equal amount till the roxc s come back, i beleive both are ir so there s really 1 mg difference in the compound,   you re not telling us if your med is IR or ER

I know how you feel.  I know

I know how you feel.  I know what it's like to call/ask a pharmacy, have somebody else do and say the EXACT same thing and get a completely different response.  I hate to say it but I'm seriously under the impression that a lot of pharmacies are profiling right now.  Basically looking at you, and judging based on their (worthless, unprofressional might i add) opinions whether or not you really need the medication and either help you or turn you away.  I wish I had a perfect answer to help your problem but I just don't.  I don't know what to do about it myself.  Other than get in good with a small pharmacy or you have to go to a pharmacy with the RX & cash in HAND.   It's out of hand ridiculous right now, atleast in Florida.

Generally you must show up in person

Calling pharmacies to see if oxycodone is available has been absolutely useless.  You generally have to show up with the money in hand.  Although, you may act a little bit and say something like: You were in there the other day and they asked you to come back in a few days to see if they had restocked.       Speak clearly, nice and try to sound as sincere as possible. (basically just to show them your not your everyday crackhead).  Best of luck :)

Shortage on Roxicodone and Oxycontin nationwide

Don't feel bad about asking because it would be insane if you had to drive to 10 - 15 pharmacies to see if they have this in stock,  especially now because I have been told there is a nationwide shortage with these 2 meds.  Supposedly there is a problem with the manufacturer's plant???  Nobody has been very specific as to what the actual problem is but they are acknowledging there is a problem and a shortage.  Good luck and just keep calling!

When my regular pharmacist

When my regular pharmacist stopped carrying the Endo brand of oxycodone and started giving me refills of the Mallinckrodt brand, I had to start calling various pharmacists to ask who supplied them with their 10/325 oxycodone as I found the Mallinckrodts entirely ineffective in treating my chronic pain.  My method was to begin the conversation by acknowledging the elephant in the room:

"Good morning [pharmacist's name], my name is Matt, and I want to reassure you that I am not a drug seeker; it's important to me that I establish an open relationship with my pharmacist, and I've found that certain brands of oxycodone are more effective for me than others, and I'd like to know who supplies you with yours. I do understand that it's regulated, but placebo or not, it's real to me. Can you help me without making me feel guilty?"

That was obviously paraphrased, but you get the idea.  The best method is the honest method.  While on one side of the coin it's social engineering, on the other side of the coin it's learning how to talk to people in the pharmaceutical profession.  You're not lying or manipulating, just altering your approach.  Unfortunately, there are bad apples out there who tend to make doctors forget that there is a line between narcotic addiction and narcotic dependence, and that there are still valid reasons to prescribe opiate-based painkillers.  To take it a step further, some doctors have forgotten that the word "painkiller" is not a four-letter word; in fact, for some, it's the difference between leading a functional life and laying in bed whimpering.

Another reason why some

Another reason why some pharmacys don't like to tell you if they have C2's in stock is because those medictions are the most frequently robbed. I've got a GREAT relationship with my pharmacy. I originaly went there because my husband worked at the store the pharmacy was in, but now I go there because they are willing to bend over backwards for me. Granted I probably keep their pharmacy in business alone with all my scripts, but they really know me. Whenever I go there they always know me by name. I have found that a good relationship with your pharmacist is key when you have a lot of scripts. Back when I lived in Reno I even babysat for my pharmacist we talked so much.
