I have been taking the M363 (lortab 10) for over a year now for my Fibromyalgia. I am taking 6 of them on a daily basic. I'm going back to my doctor tomorrow and I've been woundering about the Norcos. Are they stronger than what I am taking now or weaker. I don't like the amount of Tylenol that I'm taking each day, also it don't seem like the M363 work as well as they use to. I think I need something a little stronger. I just didn't know if the 10/325 will be stronger or weaker than the 10/500. Any information will be helpful. Thanks.

You may find that changing
You may find that changing brands may help. Qualitest and Watson seem to be the preferred brands making generic equivalents.
Check with a licensed MD before you take any suggestions!

How to change...
Since reading alot about the different brands on this site I have had in mind to change from the mallies to something different as in Waston. However the other day I called WalMart since that's where my scripts are filled at and asked about a different brand and since I have no insurance I didn't see the big deal. However they informed me they don't carry Waston and won't order it, so I also called Rite Aid and they sayed the same thing. The only place I found that had something different was CVS they carry Qualitest but that drug store is over 30 mins away. So it looks like I'm stuck.

one hour a month isn't
one hour a month isn't really that much time in the large scheme of things. Are there only 2 pharmacies in your area? Try a small mom and pop type place they are usually much more accomodating. Also you may have better luck going in and talking to the pharmacy in person, some places don't take phone consultations too seriously.

10/500...vs...10/325
I switched to 10/325 about a month ago cause of the APAP.I was taking 2 much with the 10/500.I think the 10/325 are working just as well.1 or 2 every 4hrs. I have a friend who takes them for Fibromyalga and they work well for her.As 4 me I take them 4 my back...Make sure to talk about your concerns with your MD!!!

I know this is about a week and a half late, but oh well, maybe you'll be back on and read it. Almost all Walgreens stores that I have used carry Watson. Or, as someone mentioned above, I've seen a lot of 'mom and pop' pharmacies that carry Watson, or at least will order it if you transfer your prescriptions to their store. Worth a try anyway....good luck.

I would also agree that changing brands first and giving that a try before changing prescriptions and taking it up a notch is a good idea. Qualitest and Watson are the best IMHO and can make a noticeable difference in pain relief quality. I personally prefer Qualitest over the others. The only exception that I didn't care for is the Watson Norco, it wasn't very effective in my case. I prefer the Qualitest brand over everything else. Best of luck to you.

Mail order
If you do not want to drive you may want to go for mail order. I was able to get Oxy, Norco and Xanax from a major drug store (Longs). They were pretty good about taking special requests but I never asked for a specific brand.
Stay away from the olnine pharmacy's that spam mail boxes, the just want your Credit card Number.

Try your grocery store pharmacies. Around here, they have the more preferred brand generics.

I very much agree with the folks that say there is a difference between Mallinkrodt, Watson, and Qualitest. As I mentioned before, I think the yellow Watson Norco's are not as effective, and the Qualitest brand is definitely best IMHO.

10/500 vs 10/325
I think that the 10/500 are better than the 10/325, but the 10/650 are the best. The blue V 35/97's are better than the flat blue ones. The greens are the best

Those are Qualitest, right? I just never cared for the Mallinckrodt brand. Qualitest, then Watson, then Mallinckrodt.

They are the same in strength as it relates to the hydrocodone, however the ones you take now have 500 mg of APAP whereas the Norco can have 10/325 of APAP. I think Norco also make a 7.5/325, so make sure you get the 10/325. The doc should not reject your wish to take less APAP. If you are only taking 6 per day you should be fine already at 3000 mg per day. With the same number of Norco you would be ingesting 1950 mg of APAP per day.
The Norco is not stronger hydro wise than what you take now and it's even less potent if the APAP is part of the reason they manage your pain. The APAP has it's effect too.
