Well every forum I have been

Well every forum I have been to they usually expect you to do some sort of research before you come here so everyone doesn't post the same thing over and over. It makes the forums look more intelligent and professional kinda. Especially for topics that have been covered many many times like your question.

Kawaninja,The forums are for

Kawaninja,

The forums are for questions, but simply giving answers does not really help you does it? I am sincerely not being condescending, but I think everyone should try to educate themselves on things like this if it is going to factor into their lives.  When you take the advice from a bulletin board, you are at the mercy of the poster whether or not the information is accurate or not.  What if someone were to tell you that these pills stay in your system for four hours, and then you fail a drug test because you believed what you read online?

I only mentioned the research bit for your own sake.  We have many knowledgeable posters, but if you do not do any of the research yourself, you are at their mercy as to whether or not you are receiving factual information.

Just something to go along

Just something to go along with that that most people don't realize- It's like using whatever source you find online thinking its credible. People always use wikipedia as a source saying it is legit or a credible source but in reality its not. Wikipedia's information comes from what people post. All it is is a cumulation of people's opinions, not facts.

It certainly is true that

It certainly is true that people should not consider wikipedia a reliable source for information. While it is true that there may be some facts in this source, there is also a lot of information in wikipedia as well.

Depending on what you are using it for, sometimes it can be OK, however, it is always wise to check an additional (more reliable) source for needful information.

I have a checklist around

I have a checklist around somewhere of what to look for when trying to verify a website for credibility. I will look for it tomorrow and see if I can get some of that information to you. One thing for sure is to check what kind of website it is...whether it says .com, .gov, .org, .edu, etc.

I am not completely sure off hand about these, but something that says .edu is from an educational facility or something of the like, as well as .gov is supposed to be a government website. I know .org is better than .com but can still be easily accessible under certain circumstances. I will look these up further because I am not sure about it all, but in the meantime I am sure someone else will fill in the blanks.

Here is a good checklist

Here is a good checklist for checking websites. Someone please let me know if there are problems with this link.

www.iupui.edu/~tectutor/assets/library/Web_Credibility_Checklist.doc

Here is some more:

-In general, pages with .edu, .gov, .mil, .org domains tend to be more reliable than .com websites. These sites are usually managed by not-for-profit organizations and usually have less concern about making money through advertising, a concern which can lead to conflict of interest.

- Web sites with .com domain names are commercial, meaning they a) sell ad space, b) often charge for access to files, and c) are often Internet Service Provider sites, which people pay to use and post their material- all of which sometimes lead to problems with credibility.
