You shouldn't take the xanax at the same time as the seroquel. That's a risky combination. As far as your anxiety goes, you may want to listen to your doctor and give the seroquel time to work. I've been on seroquel for several years. I also have been prescribed xanax. my doctor took me off the xanax as well and increased my seroquel. Doctors don't like to keep folks on xanax for extended periods of time. You build up a quick tolerance to them and they can be quit addictive.
Weird, since my doc wants me to take them together.
Every doc is different, and patient as well.

I take much more than just Xanax and Seroquel at the same time. Hopefully my doctors know what they are doing. In a day at one point or another I take Xanax, Luvox, Seroquel, Abilify, Oxycontin, Percocet, and Urecholine. I have been on the Xanax-Seroquel combo for close to 7 years.( And yes, by doctors orders, I take them at the same time.) I'm sure every doctor has their own views but I don't see a problem with what lucky is taking. With that being said, a little Seroquel goes a long way. If you are taking it for sleep you may be able to get by on as little as 25mg. In my experience Seroquel does nothing for panic attacks. If Xanax isn't working you may need a longer acting medicine such as Ativan or Klonipin.
Could someone point me to a resource that states Xanax and Seroquel are a risky combination? I have never heard that.
I am not a doctor or really that smart, so please check with professional before listening to me.
