I recently got in the system for adult mental health in my city.  I had been on Lexapro for several years a few years back. began @ 10 mil. & when that didn't quite take care of the problem my psych. raised me to 20 mil. that seemed to be the optimum dosage. when being evaluated for the mental health program i told them my history & previous meds. i was also on Clonazapan,0.5 mg for anxiety & panic attacks. I really felt this helped me but because of financial reasons i had to give up my therapist. The new Dr. i'm seeing has perscribed 10 mil Lexapro, 0.5 Clonazapan & 15 mg of Mirtazipine. My question is first of all has anyone out there heard of Mirtazipine ? & is it really necessary to be on 2 diff. antidepressants? Would appreciate any feed back if anyone has ever been on Mirtazipine & was it effective?

heard of it....and i have heard of using 2 antidepressants as well.

Mirtazapine (Remeron®) is approved to treat depression and works by helping to keep certain chemicals in the brain balanced. The medication comes in tablet form and as an orally disintegrating tablet.

I am not a Dr. I just play one on TV.
