I was reading thru some threads and noticed a few threads saying that overseas "HYDRO" = Codeine, which I knew, BUT just a thought: Is the codeine in overseas "hydro" the same as the codeine in the US?

In other words, is this ScanLabs Codeine pill the exact same thing as a Tylenol 3 Codeine pill?

Tylenol 3's have 100mg less

Tylenol 3's have 100mg less tylenol than the ones you were talking about which is 30/400 compared to 30/300. Most codeine in pharmaceuticals are the phosphate salt so if it is codeine phosphate then it is the same wether its foreign or domestic. In short foreign codeine should still be the same as american codeine. Also idk where you get your info that foreign hydrocodone is codeine...maybe if your ordering from a non legit website from overseas then yeah they might be giving you codeine pills instead of hydrocodone because other countries rarely prescribe hydrocodone. But I do know that germany produces hydrocodone pills and probably a small number of other countries...but saying that all foreign hydrocodone pills are codeine is false....thats just the shady websites trying to scam you pretty much.

I understand the tylenol

I understand the tylenol part, I just was trying to figure out if codeine is the same compound everywhere.

The statement about overseas hydro equalling codeine was vague: I didnt mean to state for a fact that all overseas hydrocodone is without a doubt codeine, but that what many overseas pharms CALL hydrocodone is usually codeine.......

The United States is the only country that manufactures hydro/apap for pain, most countries use dihyd or codeine apap, and the remaning countries use something different all together.

If america is the only

If america is the only country that prescribes hydro for pain then why is there a pill called dicodid that is pure hydrocodone(without tylenol) that isn't available in america yet is available in germany and a couple other countries.

and just so there isn't any confusion to answer your original question....codeine phosphate is codeine phosphate no matter where it comes from although foreign pharmaceutical companies might not exactly be the full 30mg that they advertise/say they are so they still might feel slightly weaker as the foreign countries dont have an FDA looking over their shoulder.
