I recently took a 10mg Oxycodone/Acetaminophen and I thought it worked great for me. Now I have a new pill that is just 10mg Oxycodone. I guess it has no Acetaminophen in it. The new pill I have is white, round, has ABG on one side, and 10 on the other side. Can anyone tell me the difference in the two. Are the effects similar. The only difference I noticed is that one has the Acetaminophen in it and the other does not........HELP!!!
You have a generic oxycontin pill. The 'ABG' pill is a Watson generic oxycodone sustained-release, which means that the 10 mg of oxycodone will be absorbed over about 12 hours. The oxycodone/acetominophen will probably feel stronger because all of its oxycodone will be absorbed fairly quickly, and pain relief will last from 4 to 6 hours.
You probably will feel a significant pain relief difference between the two. The acetominophen adds its effects to the oxycodone, and for a lot of people makes it better for pain relief than plain oxycodone. Another difference is the duration of relief; the oxycodone/APAP will wear off in 4 to 6 hours. For the same pain-relieving effects with the ABG pill, you would likely need to take it as well as a Tylenol, although the oxycodone wouldn't wear off for 12 hours.

You actually don't need any help because you have sorted out the difference on your own. Plain oxycodone has no Acetaminophen.
