is flexirol a strong muscle relaxer? i was just given a script. and i was wondering if it was stronger than robaxin, cuz i dont want it if it is.... thanks
I have used flexiril, skelaxin and soma. Soma is the only thing has given me any relief. All the flex did was make me VERY drowsy and cause me to have a wicked bad attitude. So bad my wife and kids wanted me to leave the house. The skelaxin is very weak but will provide some relief. I have a friend who uses zanaflex but it turns him into a limp noodle and he can't do anything.
Flexeril is a much better muscle relaxant than Robaxin. Robaxin is so weak that it is available OTC in Canada. However, like the other posters pointed out, it is not the best one and it does cause some pretty good sedation.
can someone tell me if drugs like:
flexirol, trazadon, abilify, cloniden, zoloft, atenolol, or coumadin.
can any of these drugs or a combination of them show a positive test for Benzos?
Thanx.
james
flexeril is one of the weakest muscle relaxers in my opinion. i take soma 350mg. i find soma to be the most effective, but it is surely sedating if u are taking any opiates with it like vicodin. ive had skelaxin, flexeril and soma. soma is the only thing that works for me. but i do know people the prefer flexeril. i have scripts for it that i didnt even fill just my opinion, but everybodys bodies take to meds differently. try it and if u dont like it just discontinue use its as simple as that. no one can tell u how it will work for u, just for them.
does start out as a mild muscle relaxer but it lasts for up to 12 hours, this has been my experience with it, Soma very good , but Dr. s are frowning on it as it is getting to be known for street abuse, my opinion zanaflex is fast acting an has mild sedation propeties.
Woodstock
It's a decent enough muscle relaxant for me, I take it when my leg cramps get out of hand. Now that I 'm on Fentanyl instead of OxycodoneIR I don't need it very often . . . but it does work well for my metabolism. The only "sort of" negative side effect that I get is incredible somnolescence. It puts me to sleep, sleeep, sleeeep. As long as I don't have anything else to do, which I seldom do, that's fine by me. 'Night all . . . Q
be because I M A BIG FELLA, weigh 255 pounds, the flexiril will ease the cramps but I just could not get up the next morning, the Zanaflex works on the cramps with-in 15 minutes an I have no trouble arising the next morning. WOODSTOCK
Yep, just like I said, Woodstock, flexiril works on the cramps but it knocks me (and you) out.
Interesting to see how different people react to different medications. Flexeril used to be a good muscle relaxer for me when I took Vicodin, it seemed to boost it. On its own I didnt really ever notice a difference. Ever since I found Soma I have no need to look to anything else. Soma "unlocks" the very tight cramps and spasms I get in my back like magic and doesnt leave me feeling worn down the next day. The one time I took Zanaflex, I wasnt conscious long enough to know if it helped with any cramps or spasms. It didnt affect me the next day, on the up side.
I also find Soma to be a wonder drug... I was prescribed Zanaflex and that too worked well until I could not handle the side effects any more. Dry mouth was the worst with Zanaflex... caused a horrible sore throat by the morning. Dr. has since changed me to Soma. Flexeril never really helped me and caused a bad foggy feeling.
Well, came here browsing for info, and looks like I have some to share. I have severe nerve damage and chronic pain from major surgery damage. It took a lot of trial and error to find what works, what doesn't and hope it stays working. But when folks compare Flexeril to Soma I definately have a VERY strong opinion.
First, as with many others here, I had FAR more relief when I took Soma (I take it in combo with Tylenol 3 and sometimes a Tigan capsule if the nasea is high). This trio, taken 4 times a day (initially 3), has been the foundation of giving me a life back where I can walk and live at least a semi-normal life.
Early on we did a trial with Flexeril. Other than knocking me out and there's less pain when you sleep, it did no good in terms of managing pain so I could live my life when awake, which is the reason I take medication. Factor in a few unpleasant side effects and it's one drug I never want to go near again. And if my experience wasn't bad enough, a friend's boyfriend died. They could never fully determine the exact cause of death (or if they did she didn't know it) BUT she knew he had just been in a car accident, had taken Flexeril and called to tell her he felt wierd and was taking a nap. He didn't wake up from the nap. He had no history of any drug abuse, and that story alone, which happened not long after my trial of Flexeril, is enough that you couldn't pay me to take it. ESPECIALLY since Soma/Carisopridol, is much milder and significantly more effective!!!!
So clearly another strong vote for Soma from me! I'd run, or at least walk as quickly as possible while in pain lol, from the Flexeril!!!

That is funny how people react. I've taken all of the above. My MROC at the moment is Robaxin 750 mg. I take 1/2 in the morning and afternoon and a whole one at night. Flexeril 10 knocks me out. But whats weird is Amrix 15 mg hardly affects me, but from what I gather is it is Flexeril, but I guess it has a different method of release, so to me its not as strong. I like the Zanaflex but it has a very short half life, which is why you can take it four times a day. Not me though. I sometimes take 6 mg of Zanaflex right before bed and it puts me to sleep in less than an hour, but since it has a short half life, I don't have a hangover in the morning. Soma is a little strong for me, but I can take it.

I have never tried roboxin but flexirol is fairly weak IMO compared to most muscle relaxents such as zanaflex or soma.
