I did convince the doctor this week for the switch. Didn't mention that I did Apply for free Suboxone from the manufacturer last week. Well this morning before the group meeting my doctor told me a package had arrived. I had to think for a moment but then it clicked, I got approved for free Suboxone. I almost flipped my lid I was so happy, still 'em! This was great news since my financial source said she couldn't afford to pay for the medicines, only the doctors visits; so I was freaking out about where I was going to get the money. Even paying for the generic Subutex would be a tremendous strain on my personal financial resources. This is such a tremendous relief off of my shoulders. Seems like a lot has changed during the past two months. No where to go but up from here. I can't take one step to get to where I want to go but I know of all the smaller steps I need to take to get there. Optimism is my friend and we are going places. Thank god, my friends, my loved ones and everyone else here, and there!

How would I go about doing the same? Since I lost my job last week, I will no longer have insurance to pay for suboxone.
Thats great news Tacet.
Well from what and how I understand it, each sub doctor's practice is allowed "x" number of patients to get free Suboxone from the manufacturer. It is all apart of the "Patients Assistance (Whatver(?))" program. You know that one specific program that allows some patients to get free medicine from the pharma companies?
Prarily what I did was make a copy of my 2008 1040 Tax Return form, because that is what they asked for, as well ad my last paystub from April, even though they did not ask for it! If you are single and the only person in your household I believe you have to make just barely less than $30k last year! Something like under forty if there are two. It goes up from there depending on the number of people you look after. I'm not exactly certain to the dollar number. Ask you doctor for the form and it will say! There are only so many people in each practice that are allowed to get it for free. So even if you do qualify you may not get it free because all of the slots may be taken already!!!
Hooray For ME, WHEEEEEE!
Each suboxone doctor is allowed 1 patient to get free meds if they only treat 30 patients, and are allowed 2 patients to get freebies if they treat the full 100 they are allowed to treat after being a sub doctor for 1 year and applying for the extra patients.
Well he has over 30 patients. Something like 40 plus he said. So I guess they allow for another free patient after the first thirty then two all the way up to 100.
This doctor has a Family practice more or less. As a matter of fact he has the word "BUDGET" in the title so he gets a bunch of different folks coming through there. Though when I go in there I don't really see too many people waiting. Really never beyond two people. Not like with some doctors that have a p00p load of patients waiting to be seen; sure we have all been to them there those type of doctors.
Thanks for the info Solo.

This is awesome. God works in ways like such...
