i have a buddy who is worried about drug testing. is the half life of a drug an accurate measure for how long it stays in your system. meaning that as long as the drug test happens after the half life of the drug has been reached he will pass?
he takes lortabs, xanax, and smokes
he has to take urine analysis

Half- life
Usually It takes 5 elimination half-lives (an elimination half life is the time it takes for the concentration of a drug in your bloodstream to fall by one half) for a drug to be "cleared" out of your system.

A medication's half-life is the time it takes for the plasma concentration of a drug to reach half of its original concentration.
