I take 40mg oxy 3x a day.
I take 40mg oxy 3x a day. Been on it awhile and other meds for breakthrough pain. Dose needs to be increased for me soon.

Re-evaluate
I would re-evaluate with your doc the amount of Oxy that you're taking.It is a 12hr formulation, that might not mean that you are getting 12 hours of coverage, which i doubt you are since you take so much more B/T meds. I know that from personal experience that the tolerance I build up really doesnt' effect the actual AMOUNT of drug i take, but how long it lasts. Generally i only get a couple hours of good pain mgmt from 20mg hydrocodone, but i've been taking that for a while now... Also are you taking anything non-narcotic to supplement them...tylenol or advil.....Ultram is another excellent adjunct (even tho people don't think it works....it does) to a narcotic pain mgmt program. It is a very weak opioid, but works very well (at least for me) in conjuntion with other stonger medicines.....Best of luck

difference between 100 mg morphine and oxy 80
what are the main difference between taking an immediate release 100mg morph vs/ oxycontin 80 extended release other than the obvious (time table)? Any recommendation, I am not familiar w/ morphine, but am w/ the oxy. Any info.. past experience to share, educational brief would be greatly appreciated.

it's time released at 12 hours, but reports vary, some who are very tolerant of opiods report pain relief for 8 hours, sometimes people get the full 12. every one is different, depends on tolerance.
