i get 90 1mg xanax per month and i ran out early cuz i take more than im susposed to sometimes cuz my doc keeps cutting me down. i filled it on the 17 and i have a refill left. my insurance is mass health i think they let me go like 3 days early but im not sure. is there anyway i can pay for it myself and get it early? thanks
I know my Insurance, Cigna HMO will actually fill it on day 23 but if the Pharmacist wants to be a *^!& about it (which they usually are) he won't fill it until 3-5 days before I'm suppose to. I called Cigna about this once and Cigna told me that just b/c Cigna will ok it a week early, It's up to the discretion of the Pharmacist weather they want to fill it or not. I know from personal experience that I tried to get a Controlled Substance filled early and it would go through my Insurance but the Pharm said no, it's too early so I asked If I could pay cash and the Pharm said no. Needless to say I switched Pharmacies after a couple of months in a row of this B.S. My new Pharm said she will fill it 3-5 days early unless there are circumstances like I'm going out of town or something. It all depends how much of a "God Complex" the Pharmacist has, I guess!
Good Luck...................KK
I TOO AM ON MASS HEALTH AND USUSALLY THEY LET YOU GO EVERY 27-28 DAYS NO PROBLEM I GET
120 1MG XANAX, ON MASS HEALTH, I GO TO TARGET PHARMACIES THERE PRETTY COOL
GOOD LUCK MY FREIND ...FROM MASS I ASSUME, IT'S KIND FUNNY BECAUSE MY DR'S NAME IS SO CLOSE TO YOUR USERNAME SPELLING ITS INCREDIBLE SATVA ANYTIME YOU WANT TO TALK, GET ON AND ILL SEE YOU AND WE CAN CHAT GOOD LUCK BUD
Is this site where you primarly talk about scripts and pill indentifing and the like .I was just curious?
Thanks
Your pharmacy usually recomends that you atleast call 3 days in advance to refill your meds. They will defently have no problem giving your scripts 3 days before 30 days has expired. Also if you are running out early talk to your Dr. about this just be completely honest with him and overtime you will gain a mutual trust with your doctor. Evaluate your situation mabe its time for a med adjustment or mabe your forming a habit only you know. Good luck.
The pharmacist may balk at being asked to put a script through early, even if you offer to pay cash. If your doctor has been tapering your dosage, and writting for 90 tab a month, his intent is clearly not to have you take more than that, and the pharmacist will be aware of this.
IF THEY'LL LET YOU TRANSFER IT TO A MOM AND POP PHARMHOUSE AND TELL THEM YOU'RE LEAVING TOWN AND 99.9 PERCENT OF THE TIME IN MY EXPERIENCE THEY BE HAPPY TO TAKE YOUR MONEY AND ISUE YOU A PATHETIC SCHEDULE FOUR NARCOTIC. WORKED FOR ME , BUT GOOD. TRAVEL ACCROSS STATE LINES IF THAT IS FEASIBLE. MAY THE DRUG GODS LOOK DOWN ON YOU . PEACE BENZO HIPPIE
how are you guys getting 90 a month ?
writes the script for 120 and i take it to the pharmacy - no problem. If you are not getting such a high amount your dr must believe that you do not need it. If you feel your amount is not high enough tell the dr.
I used to get Rxed 120 2mg Xanax per month.
mainly take to relax to go to sleep in other words cant download after work. my doc says 90 ought to last 6 months
might need to go to another doctor
It's not a "god complex", it's actually an ethical issue. If you are prescribed a certain amount a month, than it is meant to keep you from taking more than you are prescribed to. I would not lie to your pharmacy, or try switching to many times, because in my area you will get flaged, and likely get locked into one place.
DyBNaps.........What I meant by "God Complex" is the fact that 2 different times the same Pharmacist lied to me and told me that he ran my Rx through on day 27 and Cigna was denying it. I knew he was lying b/c Cigna has always let our Rx's go through at day 23. Now, I know it is up to the Pharmacist weather he wants to fill it or not. When I called Cigna the next day and asked them to pull up my file, the rep at Cigna said she could see on the computer that the Pharmacist DID run my scripts through and they were NOT denied. What upsets me is the fact that he lied to me and said my insurance denied it and wouldn't cover it until day 29 (another lie.) I would rather he just tell me that he doesn't feel comfortable filling it that early. The rep at Cigna suggested to me that I switch pharmacies b/c my complaint about that particular Pharmacist wasn't the first they have encountered. Yes, I agree it is an "ethical issue" but in my opinion the pharmacist is gutless and can't be truthful. I have used this pharmacy for about 8 years and we are there atleast 3 times a week (my 14yr old is a Diabetic) so I see no reason for him to lie to my face & tell me that Cigna denied the Rx. That's my experience and there is nothing more to say from my end.

I get 120 ativan's a month and had to fill them early, fortunatly I am blessed enough to have kick @!^ insurance and can fill any prescription on the 23rd day. I also get 120 klonopins a month (as well as other non-benzo meds). Normally, i wouldn't need to fill them early but if I do then I go ahead and do it and if the pharmacist has a problem with it (since it does obviously look suspicious) then I discuss with them or have them call my physchiatrist.
My generalized advice: Stick with one pharmacy, don't %^^? around with your meds, get to know your pharamacists, talk to your doc about the xanax. (and stay away from CVS, they blow)
i guess i feel blessed w/my pharmacy after all. they go completely by what the insurance co. tells them for my vicodin every month. i get 240 a month and run out early alllll the time, unfortunatley. which is about to be rectified by having my milligrams upped, but anyway, when i've tried getting my vicodin early, the pharmacist says that the insurance company won't let me have them beyond 5 days early. i have asked if i could just pay cash for them too. one time they said yes and one time they said no. i actually felt really icky asking to pay cash for them and was quite shocked when the pharmacist said yes. but then one time, the same pharmacy, different pharmacist said no. guess every place; pharmacy, insurance company, exact moment is different each time. bottom line, take them like you're suppose to and you don't run into this problem. (i have to tell myself that constantly!!!) God bless.
I get 120 norco 10/325 and at CVS they carry mallies and they quoted the cost at $117. My regular pharmacy charges $35 for watson or qualitest. How can there be such a drastic difference iv cost for the same meds. Also when I used to get 90 xanax 1mg CVS quoted cost at $103 and the pharmacy I went to charged $18. Another time befire I was swithced to the norco 10mg I was getting 120 lortab 7.5 and when I was checking prices CVS was $125 and the one I ended up going to was $24. $100 difference in price?? That is absurd!!
Some one told me the easiest way to get an early refill without any questions is to do an online transfer to a pharmacy that doesnt have your insurance on file, like Walgreens or Walmart. It should be noted that there are only a few states that deligate to the pharmacist how early a prescription can be refilled. In my state its left up the pharmacists best judgement, so its very east to get early refills at mom and pop pharmacies and pretty easy to get them at chain pharmacys.
Oh yea one last thing. Some insurance companies go by a certain monthly quantity limit, not when your script is 'ready' to be refilled. When I had HAP they allowed 240 lortab 10 a month, I used to get 150, I ran out 3days early which is normally no big deal anywhere. However they would only fill 90 until three days later when the next 240 count cycle started again.

tell the pharmicist not to charge your insurance company 90 a month i can barely get 90 for every three months
