Ok, i have Generic Vicodins, i get 90 a month plus whatever i donate to purchase more....Anyway, I have Flexeril, Clonodine, Klonopin (a lot), Xanax (whole bunch), i get my meds every month but i only use the vicodins and the klonopins once in awhile.  Im running low on the vicodins, but i shall get more in a few days, for some reason, my dr. writes out 2 weeks supply of 90.  i never understood it, he puts refills on it, but i think he made a mistake, anyway, i dont just want to fly down the hill, i want it to be as easy as possible, i am in college and work and the vicodins ironically keep me going on and on, not like most people, it just relaxes them... so i have plenty of muscle relaxants (flexeril 10 mg, soma 350 mg), benzos (klonopin 1 mg, xanax 1 mg), a little bit of vicodins(10/660) and a little bit of the clonodines(.3 mg) (aka catapres)  I have trazadone for sleep, depakoate for migraines, prevacid for stomach problems, and plenty of cigarettes to last, :-)  I really want to fix this before it gets worse.  I wish there was a pill that made you feel good like that and made you happy with out all this damage and scheming, because i just dont know how long it takes to find happiness and i wont find it the right way being on these things but i dont want to wait forever to be happy not being on these things, ya know what i mean?   oh yeah i also have these things called Pentazocine/ naloxone, i have a whole buch of those too, i know they are a narcotic for pain, but someone said to me that it wont allow you to get high, would  these be helpful or make me sick?  Because if i can take them without hardly any difference then i will do that, but i need someones help, please.  I will check this tomorrow, because i need to get started on this sooner, rather than later.  I really would appreciate someone taking 5 minutes of their day to possibly saving my life and sanity for myself and loved ones.  I am only 24 and need some guidance.  Thank You.

Wow

Hi,

I truly don't know where to start.  I seen where you stated you were only 24 and if thats correct what is your medical problem that requires you to take the medications you're taking?

they started to give me the

they started to give me the vicodins for migraines and then i was in a car accident a few days ago, but i feel better, they gave me the flexeril and more vicodins for that. but i want to get off everything, can you look at my original message and give me some advice please or someone that was in my shoes and may know almost exactly what o need/should do before it gets worse. (the addiction aspect of all of this) because i noticed if i dont take it, i cant sleep, i feel bad and i get numv, so i take it and then i am ok again, so what do i do to slow it down with all those meds i got, im sure i could combone most of them to get off narcotics altogether. thanks a lot.

I don't know what to tell

I don't know what to tell you.  You need a professional opinion on this matter, not a bulletin board consisting of pill ID enthusiasts.

Search "addiction", and wade through some of those old threads.  Everything that we can possibly say has already been said, it's just a matter of finding it.

Also try OpiateDetoxRecovery.com

and Medhelp.org and click on the addiction/substance abuse option in the left.

What to do? Hmm

If you can't get into a professional detox facility then the only thing I can think of is to start cutting back a little each day.  You could try to start with just one medicine at a time.  To much to fast would be a big shock to your body as you have already found out.

I wish you the best.  Good luck

Suboxene mebbe? Or try

Suboxene mebbe? Or try stepping down to a weaker opiate like tramadol or darvocet or just cutting down your doses of hydrocodone each day by 1/2.

Hang in there!

       gkriner,

Hello, I have been there and really feel for you.

It is a jungle when you are trying to find the delicate balance between quality of life and chemical assistance.

What helped me was to keep focusing on all the wonderful aspects of myself and family and to stop obsessing on the pills.

It is real challenge and not easy.

    Take care

I agree 100% with

I agree 100% with LuckyMan777's advice:

We've had the same type of thread started, maybe a month or two ago, and the original poster could not heed that advice.  I'm not experienced in this area, so my advice is only from things I have read from an agenda based websiteOpiateDetoxRecovery.com.  Their posters seem legit in wanting to help others, so I usually recommend that site for people who are looking for non-personal, internet based support.

Lots of more appropriate

Lots of more appropriate non-narcotic options for the treatment of migraines are available.  But sounds like you need professional help for addiction.

i know what you mean about the vicodin giving you energy to do things...I've been on Hydrocodone for 2 1/2 years...and i noticed if i  don't take my pill when i wake up I'm a #&# all morning then my pill kicks  in when i take in in the afternoon and i get all the things i need to get done, done.i also am 24...and i know it x*#&s to rely on something to give you that get up and go. i hate taking pills, they are very hard for me to swallow and other than the energy i hate how they make me feel... my advice for you is let your doctor know your worried and I'm sure he can prescribe you something else, there's some pill that's an anti-depressant/pain killer i cant really think of the name of it but if you mention it to your doctor it might be a better alternative to the vicodin..I've read a couple of posts on here about addiction to vicodin and your not alone..after i have my surgery and my pain goes away I'm going to ask my doctor for help if there's a withdraw..so that's why i say that for you...good luck and let me know if you take my advice and if you do, let me know what your doctor says cause we could probably help each-other out :)

Withdraws

Kathy Judd

I really wish I could say something to make you feel better, but I too wish that something could come along to make us feel better. I sometimes find myself taking as many as 6 a day I get the 7.5's and I tried a couple of wks to get off of them and my husband had to take me to the hospital after a few days, I was dehydrated and they found out I have Gallbladder trouble and also something is wrong with my pancreas so now I have to go back and have more test, but if I dont take as many as 3 a day I cannot even get out of the bed and take my word for it...I have tried I also noticed today that I have gained about 7pounds I'm still not overweight but now I have that worry, because I dont feel like doing anything I dont really eat alot but I get Zero excer. Which is my own fault. So I will say it again I hope the best for you and I too will be looking for answers, I forgot to say I got back to my Dr. this Weds the 16th of May. Yell

I'm sure you have a real

I'm sure you have a real reason for being prescribed vicodin, but it is being used the wrong way if you are using it basically for an energy pill in the morning. they have so many different things out there on the market now for that kind of stuff. you shouldn't be depending on a narcotic pain medicine to get your daily energy boost
