Hi.  Recently prescribed percocet 10/325 and that is presumably double the 5/325 previously given.  To save money, and if extra pain relief isn't needed, is it ok to split the pill?  It is NOT a capsule...and I remember that I have done the same thing with other meds.

By the time I realized that there was no break mark on the pill, the doc's office was closed.  I left a message for Monday.    Thanks,   and I know you are just giving opinions.     Carlos

It is perfectly fine to

It is perfectly fine to split the 10/325 percocet pill. I believe you can buy pill splitters or you can just take your best shot but I would recommend the splitter. Since you talk to your doctor soon I am sure he or she will have a much better solution but for the mean time I guess you must do what you feels best.  Good Luck

,,,will have a much better solution ...

Any thoughts on what the solution would be?   The only other thought I had was that I was getting so little of the acet. that I ought to add regular tylenol.

Thanks
