I was taking 30mg Kadian then Dr changed to 60mg (these are both CR) I have 30's leftover. Would taking 2 30mg capsules be the same as 1 60mg capsule? In fact in general is taking 2 CR's of any medication (capsule or tablet) the same as 1 that totals the 2? I do not understand how the CR works exactly except that if you crush them you could overdose..What is in the pill besides the Morphine?? This is the first time I've used this site and I guess I don't know how to do it right. Where is the drop down menu that you are asking me to choose from??

Why did someone answere this question, for the second time no less, despite the obvious first answer being correct? Am I missing something, Traveler?

Taking two 30mg of the controlled release morphine instead of one 60mg of the same medicine is exactly the same at least theoretically. So in saying that you should get the same amount of morphine every couple of hours or so however the control releases the morphine as to how much morphine you would of received every couple hours or so if only the one 60mg tablet was taken.
