Just ran out of Klonopin. =( It was from a previous doc. 150 of 0.5mg. One in the morn, one at night, and one for breakthrough anxiety or panic attacks on occasion. How many of you have been prescribed a benzo with your pain meds? I always feel like Im on thin ice with doctors, and I dont want him to wig out on me for asking for Klonopin or try to reduce or change my pain meds in order to add it. Then Im afraid if I tell him never mind on the Klonopin, dont decrease my meds I will get treated like a drug seeker. "I thought you had bad anxiety? Suddenly you dont when I want to decrease the pain meds? Oh, so you would rather suffer with anxiety than lose a little pain meds? "
Its so disgusting what someone has to go through to get proper treatment and or meds. The vast majority has to suffer for the pain seeking minority. When I started my quest for anxiety relief I was put on emotional roller coster with SSRI's and Tricyclic anitdepresants, poisened by BuSpar, had no effect at all from antihistamines (vistaril), before being given soemthing that worked.

I get xanax 2mg 4/day with Fentanyl.. alot of people get benzos with pain meds. and some docs will "wig out"..

Wow, seems we have all been to the same doctor at different times.

If you are out of the klonopin, you need to discuss a taper, but it doesn't sound like you want off. I would just talk to your doc about it. My doc gave me two Mg's a day of klonopin, and I am also getting two oxycodone/apap 10/325's every four hours. Of course, Klonopin doesn't sedate me, I have been on it long enough. Does your doctor seem weary of prescribing narcotics, or benzos? If so, I might be apprehensive, but If not, I wouldn't worry. Just be frank and honest. As long as you have records showing the prescription and diagnosis, I wouldn't think there would be a problem.
I see a psychiatrist for xanax, if I were not on it i am not sure if my pain management dr would prescribe it for me, all though he does give me valium for spasms at times.
