"What side effects are you getting KM? i take 400mg x 3...I know they prescribe some way more then that."
I take the 800mg 4 times a day. I might be getting the side effects because of my Fentanyl patch. So I might not want to say they do it by thierselves. I don't really know. I can not mention the side effects, because the only word I know to describe it, I have been told not to use that word for some reason on here. (?) (dont really know why)

| Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take Neurontin and talk to your doctor if you experience |
| · | dizziness, poor coordination, or drowsiness; |
| · | blurred or double vision; |
| · | irregular back-and- forth movements of the eyes; |
| · | nausea and vomiting; or |
| · | tremor. |
the drowsiness, dizziness, REM apply to me. The blurred or double vision happens once in awhile. My doctor asked me if they were tolerable, I said yeah, since it isnt really bothersome.

Neurontin may increase the effects of other drugs that cause drowsiness, including antidepressants, alcohol, antihistamines, sedatives (used to treat insomnia), pain relievers, anxiety medicines, and muscle relaxants.
The above phrase might be the reason I get the side effects. Since I do take Pain relievers, anxiety meds and muscle relaxers.
That is the reason, since I take 3 of them.

I didnt belive it was . But a couple months ago i had some on me ( from the dr , but in wrong bottle ) And long story short i got a narcotic charge on me over them.
well I hear you KM...I get kinda sleepy or something on the afternoon dose it seems..its hard to pinpoint any side effects when you are on so many things, I have been on it for a few months now and I do get some relief from it..
im not a dr but i play one on tv.

When i first take them in the morning, I get sped up, then sleepy (or something, I know the feeling) like you said.

Nuerontin (Gabapentin) is technically non-narcotic. I dont even know how you got a "narcotic charge on you" seeing that they arent even controlled.
solo// read the post carefully...they were in a different bottle// i think that matters here.
im not a dr but i play one on tv.
My point is that it still wouldnt be a narcotic charge. Because its not a narcotic. Unlawful possesion of a prescription medication, maybe. Either way, as long as its not controlled it doesnt matter how you transport it as long as you are actually prescribed it.
Thank you Goat . It WAS the container they had the problem with.. Thats what raised eyebrows . I believe if the pill is unknown they automatically put it as a controlled / narcotic . Until they find out.
she said it was the bottle...cops aint gonna look it up.

so i'm new to this site and its kind of off subject but i'm prescribed neurontin and i've been taking it for awhile now and i have never felt anything from it. good or bad. maybe my dose is small or something but i dont know how its even supposed to make me feel. all i know is that i feel nothing.
Im still calling BS on this one. They are going to look it up to make sure its a not an illicit substance or another higher Controlled Class such as CII. "Cops" arent retarded like most peope want to think. And like I said before you are allowed to transport your medication however you want, unless its a controlled substance but as long as you dont have a huge pocket full the "Cops" still wouldnt have a problem with this, youve never seen daily, weekly, and key chain pill containers.
One possible scenario that would "raise eyebrows" would be if her legal non controlled medications where in someone elses pill bottle with someone elses name on it. But as long as its only her meds in there, the "Cops" or the prosecuting attorney will call the pharmacy or doctor to verify she/he is prescribed what is in the bottle.
To answer. I had them in my husbands empty narcotics bottle.
*edit* to say i can add a pic of my charges if you would like. even telling what color the pills where in the bottle !
Im not going to keep arguing with you. Either you had some of his and some of yours, or you didnt put up a fight. Either way if you got charged with "Narcotics" its still a bunk charge.
Whos arguing ? I thought we where just talking. And yes it IS a BS charge. That was my point. Thank you for seeing that.
i take 300 bid too for pain, seizure, and psycho stuff great drug can that make me slur my speech too? thanx
Hi chefsamamntha,
Just a 'heads up' for you.
This thread is over one year old and a couple of the posters were banned ages ago.
So I don't think they will be responding to you.
Maybe you should start a new thread and ask others about their experiences with Neurontin and generics? Gabapentin (generic name) is a commonly prescribed drug and maybe other members will share their experiences - successes and/or failures with you?
Try this link to start a discussion about gabapentin (Neurontin):

if anyone is still looking at this thread...neurontin is NOT a narcotic.. My friend who is on seboxen is also Rxed neurontin for RLS (restless leg syndrome) and they would NOT Rx her a drug that was a narcotic although she does say that it producess a drowsy-like reaction that causes her to oversleep when she takes the drug. I personally do not know what the drug does but Im sure you can look it up on any of the drug sites for information on the chemical make up and side effects of the drug.

Neurontin isnt a narcotic.
However it is an anti-convulsant, and nerve pain killer, does kind of give off the effects of narcotics (I have personally noticed).
