My pharmacy ran out of Watson 853's and gave me Mallinckrodt M367's instead. I've been taking them for 2 days now, and they seem incredibly strong compared to the Watsons.  I'm also experiencing itching and nausea which I rarely have with the Watson's (only when I have to increase my dosages for breakthru pain).

Do the itching and nausea mean the Mallinckrodt's are stronger than the Watson's, or could impurities or fillers be causing these symptoms?  If it's just a matter of strength I'll just reduce my dosages, but if Mallinckrodt uses a bad formulation or is known for impurity problems, I'll exchange them for Watsons.

Thank you.

Never mind, I exchanged them

Never mind, I exchanged them for Watsons today.  This morning I woke up and nearly vomited.

These "Mallies" are either bad news, or maybe I'm just allergic or sensitive to one of the filler they use.  Just awful!

I called my pharmacy,

I called my pharmacy, explained the problem and they told me to bring in the remaining pills.

I did, and they exchanged them for an equivalent number of Watsons.

Maybe exchanged is the wrong word, I saw a large bin of returned Mallinckrodts, I assume from other people who had similar problems.  I'm pretty sure they don't redispense returned medications (at least I hope they don't).

Goat, the pills in this bin

Goat, the pills in this bin were clearly marked M367..  The bin was about a foot long, and I'd guestimate there were at least several hundred tablets in there.

Just curious, why all the questions?  This isn't the first time I've had problems with a prescription and had to return or exchange it for something else, or another brand.

Ok.  I'd still appreciate an answer from someone on my questions..

Can fillers cause symptoms like nausea or severe itching, or is it possible I'm allergic or sensitive to one generic brand but not another?

this hillbilly will tell you it s a goat

kinda curious of this weeks FDA getting involved in wanting vicodin an perocet, eliminated, they say its a APAP problem.

I would love for the FDA to release all complaints in regards to hydrocodone an perocet within last 2 yrs

just looking for the 1st lawyer to say have you or your spouse had a adverse condition due to bad APAP, hydrocodone or perocet.

This topic has been beat to death and I think thats why no one is really responding. I also take the norcos... watson 10/325 hydrocodone. I think anyone on here can tell you they prefer any other brand of over mallinkrodt when it comes to hydrocodone. I think most people like the qualitest, but still think the watsons do a good job at relieving pain.

Actually JJ, I searched this board and the web, and I didn't find any info on my questions (which are unrelated to the effectiveness of different generic norcos).

I'm trying to understand why one brand of generic norco would cause more side effects than another, and understand the specific causes of these side effects (such as severe itching and nausea).  Is hydrocodone itself the cause, or fillers, impurities etc?

you did nt get sunburned did you

an starting to peel , that would explain the itch, but nausea

You not telling us your mainline medication, oxycodone, oxycontin causes bad itching, all the time, you may just think it s your break-thru, an it be your mainline med.

Nope, no sunburn.Also, I've

Nope, no sunburn.

Also, I've never taken oxycodone, or any other opiate or opioid other than hydrocodone.  But thanks for the info.

Strange, I always thought codeine was known as the "itchy" med, more than oxycodone.

I forget the title of the post, but its not specifically called norco, but it was talking about hydrocodone. Everyone rated and gave their opinion of certain makers of hydrocodone and oxycodone. Norco is just a brand name so if you look up hydrocodone, which norco is, you will probaly find more info.

you may be highly allergic to codeine

consult with a dermatoligist an let him do a %@*%& test of all the ingredients in the pill that you re receiving from the pharmacy, it may be a filler giving you the problem , you ll never know until he checks all chemicals in medication, most time they pin %@*%& back an place small amount of antigen in %@*%& an watch for a rash at the %@*%& site.

hope you luck Woodstock

When I was going to Cal State

When I was going to Cal State Bakersfield they would either have name brand Vicodin or the Watson generics at the Health Center.  ME and my friend would always prefer the Watsons since they were more potent.
