Hello. i am just wondering how long lortabs stay in your urinary system, as I had a prescription last month, but i have not renewed it, and i do have a drug test coming up. Do I need to renew my prescription, but it has been 5 days since i took any.

For drugs to exit the system
For drugs to exit the system its not based on weight, meaning that isn't the variable that accounts for the drug to exit the body. The deciding factor is your metabolism and how fast your body metabolizes the chemicals and expels them,for example; If someone who works out regular and someone who doesn't work out at all were taking the same meds, the person who was more active and drank more water would have a higher probability for the drug to leave the body quicker. If you are really worried about the drug test go to your local head shop/pipe/bong store and get a detox solution or something to masque the drug, some people even say niacin helps 'flush' the system. side effects of that are the feeling of your skin burning when you take two of em. HOWEVER, if you need the lortab and are taking it for a specific medical reason, get a note from your doc and take it to the drug testing facility and they should be understanding of the situation and 'pardon' it. If you are on a state/probation administered drug test you may be SOL. hope this helps, i'm no doctor so dont take this as medical advice
p.s - Drink a lot of water, like A LOT of water. it will flush your system and helps drugs leave the blood stream and urine.

if you have a script
If you have a perscription just bring in the bottle from last month and there wont be a problem. if they ask why its empty just say you have to pick up your refill. if its a legit script there is NO reason to even worry. if not, 5 days is more than enough for your system to get rid of it, its 3-4 days to get that stuff out.

Beans leave your system in 3 days. I just took a test and passed with flying colors. Been taking beans four about twelve years, about 45-50mgs a day.

Are you taking a test from your doc to make sure you are taking them, or are you taking a test to make sure you are not taking drugs?
If it is from a doc to be sure you are taking your meds as prescribed, then you do need to get them refilled and start taking them.
If this is a drug test to make sure you are not taking drugs, then you are fine either way. Whether the pills are still in your system or not, as long as you had a valid prescription for them then it does not matter. As someone else said, generally most kinds of pills are out of your system within 72 hours so if it has been 5 days then they probably will not show up. If you are worried about it then bring the old bottle with you. Most likely there will not be an issue. If anything all you will have to do is tell them you had a prescription and they will not say anything. Also, this will not interfere with getting a job either.

felony probation
this is for felony probation, so i cannot have these pain pills in my system, i have a terrible metabolism, as i only unload(so to speak) once a month. i did have a prescription last month, but threw the bottle out, wondering if i could get a bottle from the pharmacy. thanks so much for your guys help!!!!!!

Just stop for 3 days, and drink mad water. Then drink 4 Fiji bottles of water on the day of the test, and take 2 centrums after the 2nd and 3rd bottle so your urine wont be diluted. This is the way.

Had a urine test for her new job, so I called a pharmicist locally and asked because she has a legitimate script... Its not even 2days...He said the half life is 4-6 hours on Lortab and it takes 5 to 6 half-lives to rid your system of the drug..Hope that helps...

Are part of the provisions
Are part of the provisions for your felony that you are not allowed to have ANY meds, or are you allowed them if it is prescribed? You can go to your pharmacy and get a printout of all the meds you have had dispensed. This should be enough to prove your prescription. Also, they should be able to give you a copy of the actual script if needed.
I would suggest staying away from alcohol this close to your drug test. I doubt that any provisions would allow alcohol. Just to be on the safe side stay away from all drugs and alcohol unless medically prescribed.

I've been on parole since 2002. They used to test me every week, mainly for marijuana. Since i'm HIV+, they have kinda stopped messing with me about dragging in all my meds every month and the testing since im takin all this stuff. If you are taking this med legit. and have a CURRENT prescription, you should be ok. Remember they might ask you to bring your pill in and count them and ID them to make sure that you are taking them as prescribed. Generrally Prob/parole officers aren't gonna do this cuz it's a pain for them and you..I have never failed a drug test for the state. I now am taking narcotics, benzos, and marinol. They all 3 showed up on the last test i took, which was a while ago, but even when i wasn't taking the marinol, i was still smokin weed every day and i never test pos for that until i started taking the legit med. I did always dilute my urine (not for the reason of hiding anything except the marijuana until i started on the marinol), but you can't take a handfull of pills 3 or 4 times a day and not drink a gallon of water...Generally narcotics that arent time release will be out of your system in 3-4 days, your weight has nothing to do with it, as narcotics arent stored in body fat like THC is. What i do on the mornings that i had to take a drug test is 4 or 5 hours before you have to do it take 2 vivarin (caffiene tabs) and start drinking water...at least 4 or 5 32oz glasses, after the 2 or 3rd glass take a b-12 vitamin so your pee will be yellow and not look suspicious, and keep chugging water until your peeing every 15-20 mins, then prey you don't have to sit in the office for 2 hours waiting to see your officer....Best of luck, any questions feel free to PM me...

Dazzlindizzyd16: there is no sure way to pass a drug test except for not taking drugs or waiting for them to get out of your system. Drinking loads of water and taking vitamins help out a little bit but if you think you can take whatever you want and then chug water for a day or two it just doesnt work like that. Also half of the "cleansing" drinks out there marketed to clean out your system are scams. I have heard success stories from certain ones but nothing is a sure bet.
I believe it takes about 72 hours or so for hydrocodone/oxycodone to leave your system. So, if you want to test positive I would say you should refill your rx. If you want to test negative, IMO, you should be OK.
