Hi, everybody. I would like to thank this forum-you have solved many riddles for me and helped me make some important decisions regarding pain meds. I have a question. I live in NY state and went to pick up a script for oxycodone w/apap 10/325. I believe the doctor wrote 4 refills on the script. I got home and it said "zero." I called the pharmacy and they said this drug was not allowed to have refills. Is this correct?
The Dr. made a mistake. Maybe he was thinking about something else. Its pretty funny though. lol
MY prescriptions for hyrocodones when i was taking them had refills, i could not remember about the perocets but i beleive they can write refills for them, but avinza has to be picked up in person an delivered in person, remembering time i knew dr wrote refill on 1 had pharmacy check it before i left an i was right an they corrected it, the same pharmacy shorted me 2 avinza an never marked or told me they owed them to me, i thought somebody stole my meds, when i got next refill, they gave me what they owed, i told them they never no notes of the amount that was picked up, an I made inquiries into my family an they were a little upset at me for their mistake
My endocet script has a 4 written in the box on the lower left corner. It is the maximum daily dose as per your doctor. Percocet is a C2 they can have no refills. Vicodin's or Norcos' are C3 they can have refills. You really do have to check your medication when you pick it up. I have a great rapport with my mom and pop pharmacy but just recently on my wifes generic norco prescrition they were filled with malli's and the script was for 7.5/325 and the pill insignia was m365. We knew from this site that malli 7.5/325 should have been imprinted with m366. The m365 is actuall a 5/325 and we had walked out of the store but had not left the parking lot. There was a new guy filling in for someone who called in sick. Mistakes can happen and I am sure glad we caught that one. Everyone was super embarrassed about it but we made sure not to make a fuss and discussed it super discretely.

CII drugs= NO REFILLS. Not anywhere in the USA. ANY Oxycodone product= CII.
my doc just gives me a pile of posr dated rxs for in between appointments. i dont have to see him every month thank god. my cIII usually are refillable 4times like lorcet10 soma xanax and so on, but the cII ms contin they are post dated, i believe thats legal.
Yes mistakes do happen and before I started going to the mom and pop store four years ago I would go to whatever pharmacy was closest to home. At a Chain that is now pretty much closed everywhere in NY state I got shorted on Codiene 3 two months in a row. The next month I made them recount it before I left the store and it was 3 pills short. I kept going to that store because it was convienant but whenever I walked to the back of the store to drop off the script the associates would announance loud eneough for everybody to hear "Here comes the Pill Counter" Which I thought was pretty funny all things considered. I have never came up over for some reason. Go figure. Also for some reason I never came up short on my BP or Cholesterol meds.
Thanks everyone for the info. I had hydrocodones and wondered why I could get refills with that rx and not oxys. My doc probably automatically wrote refills because he was so used to giving me the hydros. But maybe not, as several times I had to tell him that 120 was a months supply, not 60. math is not his strong point. He hates giving out pain meds, but I told him the truth-do I stay in bed and cry all day or can I live my life semi-normal. Strange how our society treats pain meds different than any other medical choice. For me it is a potential trade off-I'm 55 and know that there can be possible liver damage. Maybe shorten my life span. I'm ok with that choice-it's the quality of my life rather than the length of life that concerns me. Well, thanks again.
Johnnybart, Just in case you didn't know the maximum amount of apap in one day that is considered safe is 4000mg. So technically you could take 12 of your Percocet 10/325 and not damage your liver.
Yes that is correct. Scheduel 2 drugs cannot have refills without an actual paper rx.
