Will halving Bupropion 300 mg XL destroy its effectiveness?

NOT a good idea

Splitting, cutting or anything else that comprimises an extended release, sustained release, continuious release pill will possibly give you the whole dose at once. Read the thread titled "Not Sure" in the Discussion of Prescription and OTC Meds.  It addresses the same issue. To much bupropion probably won't kill you, but other extended release meds like Oxycontin, MScontin, Opana ER, gel-type Duragesic patches and many others could possibly be fatal. DON'T DO IT....
