toradol is not recommended for long term use eg.5 days. my question is if I use toradol for 5 days and then stop, how long do i need to wait until I can safely use it for 5 more days?
(question moved to separate forum for mpace6983)
not indicated for that type of "rotational" useage. Have you ever discussed Mobic with your physician?
Ketorolac (Toradol) is not actually FDA approved for oral use unless it's a continuation of injectable therapy (usually after surgeries) and for no longer than 5 total days of therapy. You could look at it as: don't use it any more often than you are comfortable having 2 significant surgeries.
It's really bad for the kidneys. There are plenty of safer alternatives for long term or repetitive use. It's not worth the harm to push the limit of re-using the drug.
that ever worked for me. I was prescribed toradol for 5 days of oral use and it wasn't a continuation of iv or injectable therapy. I had an onset of pain 11 months after the fusion of C5-C6-C7 in my cervical spine (and 6 years after C4-C5 was fused). A prednisone pack did nothing, mobic did nothing, and the toradol ***really helped****. Unfortunately, the pain returned on day 6 and has just gotten worse.
Now, after 4 epidural steroid injections, two rounds of facet injections, an RFL (nerve burning) procedure, and 18 months of taking mobic, oxycontin, flexiril, zanaflex, neurontin (now onto lyrica), and lortab for breakthrough pain, I would LOVE to take toradol again. Ironically, after all of these months of medication, my liver probably couldn't handle it as well as before. These other meds (not counting mobic) just cover up the pain. I feel like the toradol actually helped the cause of the pain.
When it is the only drug that actually works, it is natural to want to take it again.

Your Physician should be able to answer that question for you. We are not Doctors so we can't tell you what to do with that situation. Good Luck.
