Does anyone know how Watson 349 hydrocodone compares to M357 Hydrocodone as far as strength and ingredients are concerned?
M
They are the same, differant phamacies used differant brands. Some people use 10/500 apap for cronic pain, and sometimes switching back and forth between the two works better. Lower dosage sometimes works better for some people. If you become dizzy, then most likely you are taking to strong of pill. the acetaphine is what makes the Hydrocodone work to releive pain. If you think the 5/500 is to weak then drink a cup of coffe. This will help the hydro work better until you get back to doctors office.
i know it sounds weird because everyone keeps saying they are the same but...ive been getting the m357 until i have surgery for my pain then all of a sudden i get the watson..so i started taking those and when i ran out i found a m357 and it seemed to be alot stronger than the watsons and really helped me with pain alot better, i dont know what the deal is...and ive had to go to a few different pharmacies just depending on where im at and they all have watsons now instead of the 357
there can be up to a 20% difference in fillers, so it can make a difference, everyone likes something different though

g'lookin fam.
I wanted to know what about the strengths, etc...just to be okay with my body for work tomorrow.
I don't want to be retarded, I just don't want to be in pain and be funny with my customers on the phone.
I have been given the 357s from my pharmacy too until my dr made a change in the frequency Im supposed to take them (2 to 3 times) and now instead of the 357s I got the watson 349s which seem weaker to me. They don't really take care of the pain like the 357s did. I think the Watson 349s are weaker also.
Im pretty sure that its all in your head, because I've experienced it before when I was prescribed the Qualitest brand 10/500s, you know the huge pink ones with the V on them. Its probably due to the fact that you are used to what you are taking and you KNOW that it worked, but when there's a change up you have a unsure feeling about it, and I know from experience, your mood can REALLY affect how a pill affects you. Because I know if I take my pills, and Im in a bad mood, or if Im in a average mood, not really happy about anything I'll just feel average on them. But when something excites me or if Im happy about something, it's intensified by the hydrocodone and it seems to be working better. Thats just my 2 cents. Good luck!
Hi. I recently had my prescription filled and this time it is Watson 349. This pill is a lot weaker than the usual prescription. So much weaker, I feel no relief from pain. I took two, but this wasn't much help either.
I just posted a really lengthy "concern" that I have about the same subject. It's under "Mallinckrodt vs Watson" active forum topics, if you would like to read it. I hope that you get a chance to and respond, I would really like to chat with someone else about this subject. I know that as a general rule of thumb, generic medications, controlled and non-controlled, have approximately a 20% less or minus rate of efficacy. I've often wondered if that may be the problem ...
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Ren
That is so bizarre!
I just got through with a posting about the same thing, but I found that the Watson brand worked better than the Mallinckrodt brand (they have an "M", followed by a number, depending on the strength of the medication). Do you remember what brand your usual prescription was? I'm just really curious. I know that there are more than two different generic brands, depending on where you are located, but the Watson and Mallinckrodt are, as far as I know, all that's available where I am. I am trying to find information, links, etc. about generic medication criteria that have to be met to be FDA approved.

I have been taking the Watson 349 pills and they are weak fast. I had to increase the dosage after just taking them two days to get any pain relief. My friend has the M357 and they are stronger at least to me.
any watson pain killer is definatly stronger than any other company by far, watson 932's for example have the perfect formula for pain
I tend to agree with those that prefer Watson. I Never knew there was a difference until I just didn't feel like driving to the walgreens/Happy Harrys as they are called where I live. Instead I went to the Eckerds/Rite aid. ( these stores really need to pick a name ang with it) I was taking a 10mg Percocet. I had the worse time managing pain that month and had to add Aleve and Advil. The following prescription I went back to walgreens and I asked about name brand instead, of course it was 3 times more expensive. The pharmacist told me that rite Aid did not use Watson and my usual generic would be fine. He was right. I go out of my way to avoid Rite Aid. To those who think it's all in your mind..Trust me, it was all in my back
I find that the "fillers" in the M357 cause the "runs" so I always insist on the Watson 349. Other than the "fillers", I have found no difference in the amount of pain relief between the two.
The 357's are stronger or at least they make me feel more grawgy. I prefer the 349's they seem to do the same for the pain but with out that druged up feelling.

They are exactly the same strength and as far as ingredients are concerned they might have different non-active fillers in them because there from different labs. Both are 5/500mg (generic vicodin)
