I did a product search for oxycodone HCI on the Watson website and there is no information regarding oxycodone HCI. I have been taking brand Oxycontin for sometime now, but as of 04/01, I will have a new insurance. With my new insurance, there is a very high deductible for brand and in addition, a prior auth is required for brand. After researching this website, I have come to the conclusion that Watson is the best generic. In the past, I tried oxycodone brand that was oval in shape. I was unable to take this brand due to stomach problems. I am hoping that since there is no information on the Watson website does not mean that they no longer carry generic oxycontin HCI. Can anyone enlighten me?

If I'm correct

I heard there will be no more generic oxy so perhapr that is why Watson is not offering info on this product. I have heard that once the lingering supply of generics are gone there will only be brand.

Lousy insurance too

--MUDEBONE--

Hi Nana63, I am in the same boat as you, I take oxycontin and my ins wants a higher co-pay for brand along with prior authorization. That stinks because evrything I have read is that non-brand does not work as well. From what I gather watson is indeed the closest as they are even made in the same lab. I can tell you that ENDO is not very good at all. No where near 12 hrs releif not even 8. I am stuck because I signed a contract saying I would use only 1 pharmacy, so I cannot go anywhere else to try and get watson.

I think the way this lawsuit is working is that only meds that are already made and in wearhouses will be sold. no more made. So I am almost happy since then I can get brand. I just dont know what I will have to pay.. Good luck....Cool

Oxycontin

Mudebone,

I know what you mean by lousy insurance. My husband's company decided to change insurance carriers. The last insurance plan we had was not the best, but there was not a prior auth required for brand. I had a yearly deductible of $250 and after that, my copay was $30. With the new insurance, A prior auth is required for brand and for the 80mg. The yearly deductible is $300.00 with a copay of $40.00 . The bad thing is I just payed my deductible for my other insurance in January. My husband and I have a monthly premium of $600.00, you would think we would have better insurance for that price. I guess I really should not be complaining there are some people that do not have insurance. I think I will see if I can get the generic Waton and if I can't, I will have my doctor file a prior auth for brand. Good luck on getting your meds.
