while i love the show as i sat watching last nite i could not help but to be frighten as she crushed up percocets and put them in sweetener packets to later put in a cup of coffee, this is a med i take not to get high but to kill the pain in the lower half of my body and while funny when the boss took her sweeten packet and put in her coffee then got super buzzed, i still thought some moron in washinton dc is going to try and regulate pain meds more now thanks to Hollywood,im torn between a good show and fear of more goverment control!
Str8tupdude your right the show rocks !!! and i hope it keeps rocking
I personally was more of a Jamie Lynn Sigler fan from the sopranos, but I guess I will check out this show on demand, so Randem it was a show worth watching? I like True Blood on HBO that just had the season 2 premiere the other day.
I doubt the show has anymore effect because I think the war on prescription drugs started a few years back, but I can see how this wouldnt help. I think its kind of like saying that violence on TV made someone commit a crime or eminems music made your kid bad.
my sentiments exactly...You should check it out..I laughed my #*&$# off!!!

I actually saw "Nurse Jackie", Its actually an entertaining show. For all of you that have Showtime on Demand, there have been 3 episodes so far. The main character is a nurse that is addicted to pain killers, but at the same time a person that is genuine about helping people at the hospital she works at in NYC. I suggest if you watch at least the first episode you will want to watch the next one.
Dr. House could dianosis Nurse Jackie while they bust a pill amongest themselves, an then discuss how they gonna get the demon out of Taria, Her mother says after she quit drinking Taria s demon is driving her crazy, pass the popcorn please

See this show and shows like it brainwash people and then the brainwashed people vote for Ban's with the FDA
I'm kind of afraid these kind of shows may have an influence on people.
It will be the people that aren't watching Bill O'Reilly (mentioned in another thread) but are equally willing to swallow anything they see on TV.
Between these kind of shows, O'Reilly with his self-righteous bs and all the media hype with MJ, it's a miracle the average person is able to abtain anything effective for pain refief.
Haven't seen the show, but I'd probably find it funny, but I can see niave (sp) people taking it all in and getting worked up over it.
...the more you bash Bill-O the more I like you.
Speaking of self-righteous windbags, someone refresh my memory- was there the same type of backlash against chronic pain patients when Limbaugh admitted his drug abuse? I wasn't "on the scene" back then...
I have watched all Nurse Jackie episodes and I find it entertaining. Yes, she a good nurse with the best intentions, but with a few character flaws like infidelity and drug abuse. I know it probably doesnt make any sense for me to say someone has a good heart that cheats on her husband and abuses Rx medications... I guess you just have to watch the show.
Felix... yeah its pretty ironic how the Republicans are usually the ones that want all these "conservative values", but more often than not they are in some kind of political scandal like limbaughs oxycontin habit or some gay sex scandal in a airport bathroom. The older I get the more I dont like either the right or left. But I do believe one man in Washington (Ron Paul) is the kind of guy that what you see is what you get.
Both sides have their own personal agenda. You should watch the South Park episode on voting. The kids school mascot is the cow, but then PETA comes and protests the elementary school for having an animal for a mascot. They end up having to vote between a turd sandwich and a giant douche to be the new mascot. If you look passed the crappy animation and follow the story line, it has a funny, sarcastic, but true message. No matter which election you vote for you are voting between a turd sandwich or a giant douche.
Haha. Southpark lessons for the win.
There is another one where one of the kid's dad is trying to quit drinking. He becomes so obsesed with quitting that is actually takes control of his life. The guy's son makes the point that you have to be careful with your mentality when you quit a bad habit otherwise you basically become addicted to quitting and the habit continues to control your life.
Interesting paradox there...and from the most unlikely of sources...

Edie Falco is hot...and you know she is when the gays (yeah, me) start saying that....I loved her in the Sopranos and I love her even more in Nurse Jackie..LOL, as far as Hollywood goes, I think that if the government was gonna do something they would have done it by now. I don't think anything in that show is any worse than any other drug related movie or show.
