I know my troubles, and having seen those of the folks here, and on other medical msg boards. It is a us and them mindset.
What and or where are you on this topic?
Better to under medicate, for the patient, or to cover yourself from the Gov.
Pharmacists, do you see many people who are in bad shape as a result of their doctors.
Are you as skitish of some of these meds as the doctors?
It all boils down to why all the games, hide and go seek medical care, at great expence.
Words like doctor shopping, well why not we all shop for what we need.
This is a really broad thread..........I'm known for them.
Take you best shots here.

Doctor shopping
As good a place as any, I f you are going to 10 MD's for a massive amout of hard drugs, well you are the problem, that the rest of us have to put up with.
Now if you are up against the wall, locked to a doc, by insurance, or for whatever reason, You can not rcv, your effective dose of med X, you can, then by it on the street? doctor shop, mail order.
So yes the reasonable man would have to choose the path, of selfpreservation.
I have now come to the point of calling a doctors office, and flat out asking, does the doctor have any major hangups with med x, oh really, I take x mgs per day. Oh great he does
Now it is hard to find the ones, who do not drag some med baggage, with them. Then you are left with a person who works for you, you pay their fee. Who wants to bang heads. What I say, does matters ,thank ya very much. When anything he does puts you in the role of lab rat. Would you accept, this kind of behavior, in any other field, biz or org.
I remember a doc trying to talk me into, taking Viox (sp) and my adamant refusal to even consider it, Cox -2 ??? no to any new meds IMHO has been fast tracked, blowing right though or with the asst. of the FDA, it's priced to make a profit and cover the costs of the lawsuits, and on to the next whiz bang new med. So many meds have killed,maimed, so many to be the next rat

Its a business but what they mean is that you are seeing different doctors to get pain medicines from each for the same problem over and over again.
I've narrowed it down
Later
