After a couple of years of pain, and surgeons telling me my cervical spine fusions were great and not causing my pain, I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I went through 6 months of believing the hype that it isn't real. That was after me self diagnosing fibro. Since then a physiatrist suggested it, my PM agreed & referred me to a rheumatologis, and he diagnosed me. The process gave me time to start to accept it. I can't believe what a relief it is to have a diagnosis and a doctor whose goal is to get me pain free.
Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good pharmer like website specific to fibro. There are a million dumb-downed sites. Has anyone found a good one?

I have found http://fibrohugs.org and also http://www.fmaware.org/site/PageServer to be very informational sites. Fibrohugs is a little less formal with both recent info and forums, where as fmaware is more educational.

about dumbed down sites. I haven't found one like pharmer, this is a great website. I used to go to http://www.immunesupport.com. It is now Prohealth. I got booted off their website years ago for having a discussion with a chat room mod. I accidentally hit the caps lock, and typed out a reply, and wham, I was banned, even though I apologized. They are very strict with rules.
I haven't been there in awhile, but be aware, they load your computer with cookies, so delete the cache after you go. The message boards can be interesting, but a bit overwhelming. The search isn't "search" related, so you will find people on the message boards asking the same questions over and over. However, you can glean some good info from there, and talk to interesting people in the chat rooms. Be aware of the rules before you start. A lot of people who used to be there... aren't.
A good book is: Fibromyalgia and Chronic Myofascial Pain: A Survival Manual(2nd edition) by Devin Starlanyl
It's got a lot of good info.
Good Luck.
