How is everyone doing? Im doing good, having fun with my son. He learns new things everyday, seems like every couple of days he amazes me at how fast he learns. I hope everyone is doing good and is as pain free as possible.

Glad you are doing okay. I'm fine too.
How old is your son?
Children are amazing and can teach you things you never knew.
I'm still learning and I'm ancient.
With responsible parents, children are the ultimate learning lesson that continues to teach for your lifetime (if you care to listen and learn).
When kids are young, parents know best.
Once smart children become mature and can think for themselves, they can form great opinions and educate us. You, in turn, can educate them. And we learn from each other.
That's knowledge, power and freedom.
i am enjoying a funny movie with my 15 year old daughter,,we both have a dry sense of humor
Thanks for asking mrbrandman. Just relaxing happy its Friday. Glad to hear your doing well.
Great to hear everyone is doing good!
Kirby, my son is 20 months old, and he is my world. Ever since he was born he has been the most amazing gift that Ive ever had anything to do with. I will be the best parent I can be because I want my son looking back and having only good memories of his daddy as well as his childhood. When he was born and they brought his bed in the room, he was a c section, and we had a private room so I stayed the whole time in the hospital sleeping on a fold down chair. I didnt even notice, but when he was laying with mommy at bed time, I was tossing and turning in and out of sleep. My wife knew what it was, the baby, she told me to come get him so I did and layed him beside me then I slept like a baby. Its so amazing how your body just knows the precious life is there and not to turn over in your sleep. Many times he slept on my chest or right next to me, which they say isnt the best thing to do with possible blanket smothering, but I just couldnt be away from him, and I never moved an inch where before I would always wake up in a different position.
Im glad that everyone is doing good.

I second kirby's question, how old? Mine just turned 11 months two days ago. Between like 5 months and 11 months the progression is really amazing. About two weeks ago he had his 8th tooth come in and is already saying around 8-9 distinguishable words with 6 of them being very clear those being mama, dada, papa, (im both papa and dada) baba, duck and elmo, lol. He should be walking by his 1st birthday, he is already walking while holding onto things like the couch, push toys, etc. but recently started being able to just stand up and stay standing for a mintue or so without holding onto anything before flapping his arms like a bird and plopping to his ^*#%. Another great thing about this age is you can really start to see there sense of humor develope, they dont just laugh at goofy noises or faces but really want you to put something into it and perform. If your sons past this age Im sure you know what Im talking about if not just a little taste at what to expect.
Brandon, sleeping with you kid is the most natural thing. People in some of the more underdeveloped countries think we are horrible parents in the civilized world, caging our babies up. Me and my wife have slept with our baby since he was born, both together and seperately and we still sleep with him, which now is starting to get a little annoying at times, lol. The first 10 months my wife exclusively breast fed so it was easier on everyone to just have him there since he basically ate all night. The reason its getting annoying now is because we used to be able to transfer him to his crib whenever we wanted to now as soon as his rear hits his mattress he wakes up... We are both extreme light weights, Im 6' pushing 130lbs. and both sleep very lighltly so Ive never been worried about rolling over onto him. The only thing Im starting to get concerned about is sometimes he will wake up in the middle of the night and think its play time or wake up just before we do in the morning he never has a chance to move before one of us is up but hes starting to get too mobile to really chance it anymore. Anyone, maybe you, have any ideas how to get him back into his crib?
I know all those things you are talking about. My son is 20 months old and he did everything early just like yours is doing. As part of a care package I received a wheel from Enfamil I think that describes everything an average baby is doing at what months, our kids seem to have exceeded and done everything early. My sons crib had a mobile on it with lights and music. The way I got him to his crib from the bed without him waking up was to start the music when he fell asleep in the bed. Its set to play for a minute or two and shuts off. When I would put him into his crib I would start the music again, lay him down and keep my hand on him for several minutes until I felt he was deep asleep. Now he sleeps with me or in his toddler bed that has small guards on each side.
How cute all the things he is doing and saying! Reminds me of the silly things my son did and all the transitions in growing up. I am camera crazy, I have a hard drive full of digital pictures and videos documenting every step of his life. LOL. I love pictures and videos because they take you back to the time they were taken, and there are things I forget about and the pictures jog my memory. My memory has really gotten bad with the pain medication. I remember a post where someone was talking about how they went off their meds for vacation because she wanted clarity, I can relate to that.
all is well as can be over here. i also have 2 gifts from god. a 2 yr old son, difficult but he has such a personality, kinda reminds me of myself in certain ways very stubborn and does everything on his own. and we are blessed with a 4 yr old girl that is in preschool now. they grow so fast, my 4 yr old is so smart, she picks up on everything that we do or that others do. very hard in these times, but it is a blessing to have them. wouldnt change a thing.
is a little version of me...a heck raiser
What is unbelievable, my son at 12 years old took the SAT (not PSAT) and scored a 1520! They grow up very fast and smart. To take the SAT in the 7th grade you must be in the top 5% of 7th graders on EOGs. He took the SAT with high school kids. His scores were recognized with a metal. To think his SAT scores could get him into college now is amazing. He has been in Duke University's TIP program since the 4th grade. That is how he was able to take the SAT. Take care, Htmom
Wow! Your son's achievement in the SAT is awesome, so he will get into any college with scholarships no doubt. My son is 12 too and in 7th grade, I guess he is about average academically. He loves birds and has decided he wants to be an ornithologist (sp?) when he grows up. But that's a lofty goal and many years of college. I miss those baby/toddler years...time goes by so fast!
I've had sort of rough time this past year with major gastric dysmotility and had to go on FMLA intermitently. Two weeks ago while I was in hospital a letter came to my house from my employer. They fired me not in so many words, but quoted from policy that since I didn't phone in, "I had voluntarily resigned from my position" When I got home, I called the AVP of employee relations & tried to explain what had happened but she didn't seem very interested or empathetic. 23 years with the same company and they kicked me to the curb. I'm so upset I don't know what recourse I have, if any. Sorry this is so long but I had to get this out. There aren't many jobs out there and I'm scared to death. Sorry this is so long. Any suggestions would sure be appreciated! ~ Theresa
htmom, a 1520 at age 12? Good grief he must be smart. I thought I was smart as a kid, but a 7th grader taking the SATs and scoring in the top percentile takes the cake. What is EOG's?? In grade school I was in GATE, Gifted And Talented Education, is that similar? Surely your son should have no problem with AP, Advanced Placement classes in high school. I loved those! Not only because I was smart but have ADHD so moving at the pace of a chapter a day was more interesting to me. It was challenging though, cover a whole chapter of say US History one day, have homework to turn in the next day on it, take the test for that chapter in the morning grade the homework and start the next chapter. Then there is the bonus of passing the AP exams which they guard like alcatraz (sp?) you'd better pee before you go in or else you are in for a frisk and a monitored bathroom visit, but its worth cutting your basic college 101 courses off the roster. I hope my son continues to be smart because it's tough in school as it is, but in my school everything was easier for me as an honors student. The teachers and staff did more for me, the quality of education is very different.
Theresa, Im so sorry to hear that about your job. Ive had rules like that where three consecutive no call no shows was determined job abandonment. Maybe its different in a "right to work" state? I dont know what option you have, because they will throw every situation at you; why didnt you have your husband call, or you couldnt be that sick you cant pick up a phone and list is endless. They just dont care. I was fired from a job that doesnt allow one tardy or absence in the first three months. My wife, pregnant with our son was having speech problems and couldnt complete sentences, I thought she could be having a stroke or the baby could be in danger so obviously I took her to the hospital. I called and left a message to tell them what was going on since no one answers the phones there, but the next day my badge wouldnt open the magnetic door so there was the big clue. My wife was dehydrated and everything ended up ok, its no fun looking for another job with a baby soon on the way, but health comes first.
Is it ok to use the colors and the separation bars? I noticed there is a little black x in one post where one bar went missing, and in the OP it says mx but I dont see any changes made in the post. Is it showing up as just code in some browsers? Im using Explorer 8 and its rendering the code fine.
Oh, now I see whats missing, the bit of text the bar was separating. Im still curious about the OP though, what was edited?
Goat, Im glad all is well with you, and I hope you & your daughter enjoyed that movie.
MrBrand It was called GT when I was in school, it is called (where I live) AIG now. Duke U is very smart about finding potential students. I could not check his scores online because you have to be 13 to create an account. My husband and I are very proud of him. He already has quite a resume built for college. EOG means end of grade testing. My son didn't learn to do things early as a child. The one thing that he did was when other kids had a very limited words, he was using multiple words. He loved Barney! Good 'one days. You better take a good look at your child because before you know it they will be grown and think you are from Mars! There is a reason everyone says it because it is true! Take care, htmom
had a good week in the firewood business, Saturday nite poker tourneys 3 of us chopped $175 apiece, second tourney I finished on the bubble, the rest chopped $200, Sunday Our Family had a Thanksgiving/reunion dinner, got to see alot of kin an grandbabies.
Htmom: thats a score any parent would be proud of, hope He ll continue to do well.

Aw, that's cute about your son ^_^ yes, they learn so fast when they're little, don't they? They're like little sponges, hehe.
I am okay. I have seasonal affective disorder so I am trying to take a lot of walks and get as much sun as I can; I'm investing in a sun-light this year also, so once the weather gets really bad, I'll at least have that. Otherwise... lots of schoolwork. Very busy!
