I'm statring this thread because I have been taking 2mg xanax bars and there doing nothing for me at all anymore I do not feel a thing from them at all.They used to make me feel great now I can take 6-8 with no affect!Can someone please help me here as to why there no affecting me? I do NOT have a tolerence either
Obviously you do have a very high tolerance to benzos. 12-16MG of Xanax with no affects? A switch won't help in my opinion. You will just have to taper down.

First of all continued use of anything will usually result in a tolerance build up of some kind. They used to make u feel great but they don't anymore, because you have a tolerance.
Just cut back on you dosage and you should "feel" them more than u do currently
Stop fooling yourself. No one can take 16mg of alprazolam and not "feel" it, unless they had one $(*$ of a tolerance. That dose is sufficient to overdose on for someone who has even a moderate tolerance for benzos. You def. need to get some help. Withdrawal from benzos can be deadly especially from seziures. I'm going to assume that you aren't getting these from a doctor, as no doctor would prescribe that much to be taken daily. Do yourself a favor and check into rehab at least for detox to get past the worst of it...Best of luck...Ray

getting back to the OP, IF yOU RE TAKING THAT MANY UNITS OF MEDICATION, take a member of the family to the funeral parlor an make arrangements an write a will, it might not get You right off, but it will difinitely get You, might be a simple as watching TV one nite an just going to sleep an not wake up., get HELP NOW
Here's a wild guess. The illegal offshore pharmacy you order them from is ripping you off. You're taking 16mg of talc, not alprazolam.
6 mgs a day and have been for many,many years. It's a rare day if I take even 5 mgs in a 24 hour period. IMHO you have a problem that can't be solved here. Maybe rehab. Be careful, in my 59 years on this earth I have lost a lot of friends that couldn't "get off" anymore. Greg
Since that dose is obviously not prescribed to you, I would assume you are taking fakes, who knows what you are actually taking, but it isn't alprazolam if you are putting away 16mgs at a time and not passing out.

Maybe try switching to another benzo like klonopin, valium or another less popular name.
