Today GlaxoSmithKline and Roche announced the FDA approved once-monthly Boniva (ibandronate sodium), a drug used to treat postmenopausal osteoporosis.
Boniva is an oral tablet taken once a month. Currently other medicines on the US market that treat osteoporosis have to be taken once daily or once a week.
