The FDA recently approved Cesamet (nabilone) to treat patients with chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. Cesamet is a treatment option for those patients who do not find relief with standard anti-nausea drugs.
Cesamet is manufactured by Valeant Pharmaceuticals and will be available in the US within several weeks. Cesamet is currently marketed in Canada.

Cesamet capsules taken twice daily control severe nausea and vomiting. The drug is a synthetic cannabinoid (an
active ingredient in marijuana) and is a controlled medicine with CII designation.
