There is now a new generic Oxycodone Controlled-Release from Actavis.
It was mentioned that they are very similar to the actual brand (Purdue Pharma), unlike the Mallinckrodt which were waxy like MS-Contin.

I picked these up this last month when I filled. They are just like the name brand, Same color, imprint, quality, ect.... These Generics are way good. So lets keep the contract going past 6 months and support these generics.
Yes, I also recieved these oxy's, they are exactly the same! I believe Purdue is dumping, either an abundance of Oxy's ready to go past due, or they are changing to a new formula soon. Either way these are Purdue's in Activis bottles. My pharmacist showed them to me next to each other, exactly the same. It is against the law to make a generic look the same as the original. They smell the same taste the same and they are...the same.
Well what you believe is false, they cannot just dump a bunch of about to expire drugs on them to sell, and they are not cooking up some new formula. They are just smart and putting a monopoly on the drug. Now they are made by Purdue, so if someone buys generics now who gets paid? PURDUE, and if someone buys name brand who gets paid? PURDUE.
steevoh, they actually are cooking up a new formula and have resubmited, yes resubmited, there paperwork and this time were given the nod of approval by the panel that advices the FDA so now its up to the FDA to decide whether or not they have to go through a New Drug Approval or if they can just make a formula change to the current OxyContin as approved. Its also been reported that they will be called OxyContin-TR (Tamper Resistant) or there will be no name change at all and its estimated that 90% of the retail OxyContin supply can be replaced with new OxyContin within 2 weeks.
Thanks ! That's good to hear.
Actavis used to make a very good generic oxycodone 15 mg and 30 mg. They took them off the market for about a year and should be back by now. I hope they have kept the quality up like the long acting...AB satus is good!!
