Found another pill.
This one is purple, and has a really fancy C on it. Well, on one side it has a fancy C, the other side has numbers and a score mark.
Above the score mark is an 86, and below it is a 62. I think this one was a dog medicine, but also kind of doubt it because it looks too big for a dog, and also, I dont have a dog no more.
Can someone help?
thanks u oxman for the help. I think one of them was mine, but the other ones i dont know where they come from. this pill is kind of purpleish and the C is kind of script style. I dont no what it could be, but i appreciate your help!
Skelaxin (generic) 400mg carries that imprint. Skelaxin is a muscle relaxant.
Thanks Mimilou! i think my roommate had this prescribed for her for something, who knows what.
Thanks oxman, and Mimilou! I appreciate both of you helping me.
I'd hold off on the Skelaxin call till you are 100% sure....
the skelaxin i found was 86/67 not 86 62. And had an "S", not a "C" on
it.

if your tablet is round, then I agree with Mimilou, this is a generic "skelaxin", a muscle relaxant made by Valeant Pharma. The chemical is metaxalone, 400mg.
My source lists the color as pink, so if your tablet is most definetely a purple, then there still may be some question. But, if you can find it in your opinion to call it pinkish, then we have an ID.
Can one of u guys please post a picture for our request-er of what you say you have found....... b/c right now, his original post matches neither the letter, number, or color of the generic Skelaxin listed in the sources i have.
i originally came on to post the other pills i found, but saw this. the color of the pill is just like the one oxman posted. i guess u could say it is a pink picture, or a light purpleish color.
If your tablet is round, then it is metaxalone (Skelaxin)
sorry oxman, no picture.
yes my tablet is round, same color as the one above
I know this pill has been positively ID'd, but I would like to add something. The tablet is actually name brand 400mg Skelaxin which is now discontinued, also according to the FDA there are no generic manufacturers of Skelaxin.
Hmmm...I listed the generic because the original marketer of the tablet is King Pharmaceuticals, but the tablets were made by Mallinckrodt. this link provides that info (as well as a description of the imprint and color of the discontinued 400mg tablet)

My source lists Valeant Pharma as the manufacturer. There certainly may be a connection or a name change involved here. But frankly, that's beyond my scope.
I'm happy to remove the "generic" portion of my earlier post. But can someone explain the connection in these manufacturers/marketers?
Unless someone has some inside information about either of the companies I dont think we will ever know, Im sure it could be a number of things prior contract obligations, cost saving techniques. You see things like that all the time on Package Inserts though, Manufactured by one company Dist. By another; Manufactured for one company Dist. By another. I find it extra weird when really large companies do this though, even Watson has some of there Hydrocodone products "outsourced".
Thanks for the picture, Gtrplayer.

Hey mimilou & 4andsic,
You're welcome! I didn't see this until just now. I hope you didn't think I was being rude:)

This is where the guys on this board will work their magic. I am a novice compared to some, and this one has me stumped. must be discontinued, foreign, or yes...maybe even veterinary.
