I assure you I have no intention of consuming these - information only.
4andsic is a valued member here...most of these pics are done by him and its not so easy to get the "right" pic
I'm gonna go eat me some humble pie, pop a few Datril's, and wash em' down with some of my pride...lol
P.S. Am I not a valued member Goat?
P.S.S. Assuming it's not counterfit/ been tampered with, it's your 500mg of APAP alright!
I'm gonna go eat me some humble pie, pop a few Datril's, and wash em' down with some of my pride...lol
Thanks, FeliksD! I'm sure 4andsic will appreciate your 'subtle' apology!
Too funny!
has some value here
...my face hurts
Sometimes the road to a confirmation takes a winding scenic path, and we are all the better for it. APAP it is.
Well, I guess the case is closed!
But I'd like to add a little info that's irrelevant but it may be important to a pharmaceutical or chemical history student sometime.
This is similar to the problems we had in identifying your CoTylenol image:

Generic Name: Acetaminophen, Chlorpheniramine, Dextromethorphan, Pseudoephedrine
Strength: 325 mg, 2 mg, 15 mg, 30 mg
Manufacturer: McNeil Consumer Healthcare
Trade Name: CoTylenol
Type: Cold Remedy
Class: OTC
Size (mm): 22 X 8
Comment: Image courtesy of 4andsic
Note: Cotylenol was also available in an oblong yellow tablet
The few databases that had a listing for CoTylenol stated it's a tablet. And I agree because I have an image I photographed of the tablet buried someplace on my computer. Eventually I'll find it.
CoTylenol is a brand name and it's plausible that McNeil would promote its product by using different formulations. The company is still doing it with several products. Many are available in different forms.
The same situation exists with Datril.
Most databases have no reference to Datril. One simply states "tablet". Another - DrugID.Info - has the most information. DrugID.Info states that Datril came in both a round white tablet and an oblong white tablet and the tablets were discontinued in 1981.
No database mentions a capsule.
But the brand name "Datril" denotes acetaminophen, and obviously the 500 mg in the imprint denotes '500 milligrams'.
Thank you so much for providing a 'look back' in history. I appreciate it very much.
I know some of these tablets/capsules I'm posting could be VERY old...that's why I needed a confirm on this Datril - none of my references posted it either.
Thanks for the vigilance.

...but that's a capsule my friend (remember the Tylenol murders in the 80's? That's why Tylenol dosen't come in capsules anymore. This capsule could be filled with dried fecal matter for all any of us know. What is the purpose of this identification? For personal use?
