My doctor has given me a couple of diazepam for anxiety. I'm worried though that they are actually temazepam as they look different to the diazepam I've had in the past.

They are yellow, scored on one side with just a 5 on the back (no other numbers or imprints or anything).

Did he just give them to

Did he just give them to you, or did he script them for you? Are you in the US? Something just seems "off" about that.

My doctor is a she and she

My doctor is a she and she gave me them for anxiety.

I have had them in the past, however these ones are a different shade of yellow to the ones I've had before, and I'm in the UK. There is nothing 'off' about it.

Then i wouldnt worry

but if you still are worried call the pharmacy where you had the Rx filled, call them now and be sure of what your taking......let us know were all waiting

Or since when did DR's do the filling of the Rx they in the US normally only do the Rx Writing unless they have an abundance of samples for the drug your being Rxed

It's 11pm on New Years Day, which is why I'm asking here.

I will call the experts in the morning, you clearly have no idea to be advising people.

What is this referring to?

What I meant by "off", was that most doctors in the US freely give out samples, but they are always in a package. I've never had a doctor just hand me pills, aside from the dentist before my wisdom tooth surgery. It wasn't an accusatory gesture. Now that I know you are in the UK, it makes it a little bit easier. We have seen this pill somewhere on the board, and I'll try to find it.

Actually i do have some.......

I wouldn't be a Pharmacy Technician here in the USA w/o having certification, it took learning over 250 or so odd generic and non generics and what their used for and what they look like, all memorized...A+ been working for over 5 months gotten two raises.

OK well I've never heard of

OK well I've never heard of 'samples'. I've been given diazepam by both my GP and by a ward based doctor in the past.

Sorry for the confusion.

Sorry for the confusion. Click here for pictures of foreign diazepam and see if any of those look like your pill. If so, let us know. If not, let us know anyhow.

Foreign Temazepam pictures, click here This link will take you to foreign temazepam pictures that are on pharmer.org.  This is not an all inclusive list, but is pretty extensive.

No, not there. They are

No, not there. They are yellow and just say 5, there is no manufacturer imprint. I doubt she has made a mistake however it threw me that they were a different shade of yellow than any I've had before and had no other imprint.

I know I have seen this pill

I know I have seen this pill on the board.  Check back after the top 5 posters have a chance to ID this pill.  The only pills I ID are ones that are in the free databases, and Rawoody is excellent at ID'ing foreign pills.  Phisher and Incognito and Kirby are all top candidates for this thing getting ID'd.  I'm sorry there was confusion about the "off" part.  It wasn't accusatory or anything, I promise.  I'm sorry I couldn't help you any more than what I posted.

Yellow Tablet Imprinted 5

It's almost impossible for us to identify your tablet. The imprint is very vague, and it's quite difficult to identify US meds with such a vague imprint. Since you are in the UK, that complicates things immensely.

I would imagine the pills are diazepam for three reasons:

  • The 5 means something and is probably the dosage form. As far as I can tell, temazepam doesn't come in 5 milligram form.
  • The color and presence of a score is right for 5 mg diazepam.
  • Your doctor probably wouldn't mistake diazepam for temazepam.

To all the posters I

To all the posters I referenced earlier, does anybody remember the pill that was floating around on this board that was blue and had a 10 in between a couple of lines?  I was thinking there was a yellow one, but couldn't find it in the submitted or foreign/domestic galleries.  I may be thinking off one of the other boards, although I haven't gone to them in over a month or so.

Apaurin

You are probably thinking about 10 mg Apaurin, a diazepam tablet from Serbia or Croatia.

The image was deleted from Pharmer's gallery, but I did save it on my computer:

Notice it says '10 mg', not just '10'.

I haven't see a yellow diazepam printed with only '5' but I'm sure many foreign generics exist.

yellow valium

I have been getting 5mg diazepam from the doctor. They are scored one side and the other just a 5 imprinted on it. They come from a blister pack and are made by TEVA. They are proper diazepam. Sorry-just realised I repeated myself- Dam short term memory lapse!

Yellow Diazepam Imprinted 5

Stevieboy, where are you from? General area of the world will do - like Europe. Or if you want to give a specific country, that's great.

I'm just curious. We have a lot of foreign pill images but none are marketed by Teva. The company does distribute pills all over the UK and EU (and probably the rest of the world). And Teva is one of the largest US generic manufacturers, if not the largest.

So I'm wondering why we haven't seen any images of foreign pills made by Teva.

Someday when you are bored, can you either photograph or scan both sides of the diazepam and post all the info on the blister pack? Thanks.Smile
