Debossed with 800 on one side and 4 4 4 4 on the other side with an hour glass symbol formed from 2 triangles one being upside down. They are football shaped white. Supposed to be hydrocodone. Please help.

Thanks, that information is most helpful. I have another pill I need to identify if you could please help. It is a large white football shaped tablet, scored on both sides with 9 3 on one side and 71 74 on the other side.

Confused
I read that Gabapentin is prescribed for seizures and shingles, as well as, Fibro, however, my brother was recently prescribed this medication to stabalize his bipolar disorder. I dont understand how this would be effective and could this possibly be a mixup on the doctor's part? If anyone can please clarify this for me, I would be greatly appreciative. Thank you much.

I am glad that you are concerned for your brother's well-being. Neurontin (Gabapentin) is a drug that has many uses. I believe the drug was originally intended as an anti-convulsant, however; it is being used extensively as a nerve pain medication. I have also read of instances of this drug being prescribed for certain psychiatric conditions. Best advice would be to simply ask your doctor for clarification as to why this medication was prescribed.

Thank you for your help...I wouldnt think that the doctor would misprescribe a medication, however, I think I simply needed reassurance of this...His doctor is near impossible to get in contact with, which is why I decided to post on here...I believe the medication is helping him...His moods seem stable and he is much happier than he was before he was institionalized...I hope that this is it and we wont be seeing anymore "episodes"...Thanks again for reassuring me

i'm not a pharmacist or doc don't listen to me i just have done alot of research on this stuff. talk to your doctor about it

Gabapentin use for bipolar disorder
My sister is taking Gabapentin for anxiety and she finds it helps alot. I would think that or another property of the drug is good for your brother.
Just to let you know that the doctors do know what they are doing and psychiatrists frequently use drugs that are for other disorders because the side effect helps their particular situation. As long as it is not harmful in any other way.
It is good to research drugs the he or you take.
