I recently purchased in Cozumel some pills sold as alprazolam. The blister pack said "TIRAX 1 mg alprazolam oral." The pills themselves look like our own American 1mg. xanax- Blue "footballs" scored at the center. The imprint is "Upjohn 90." I can't find anything online anywhere on "Tirax" or that imprint. I took one pill and it seemed to feel like xanax but I was extremely ill with a terrible cold and already exhausted, so was not a good subject. Does anyone have any knowledge of these? Would upjohn be selling xanax in mexico under another label?
Brand name alprazolam sold in Mexico is called Tafil.
Xanax = Xanor = Tafil.
A Google search brings up nothing relevant for Tirax. Maybe Pfizer (Upjohn) is marketing alprazolam in Mexico with the same imprint under both names, but it's strange there isn't anything on the internet about Tirax. And nothing except Tafil is listed in the Mexican equivalent to the PDR.

well i just found it in the "foreign" image gallery and it is what it was purported to be. (Sorry, first time here, should have looked there first!)Good night all.... and if you are looking for pills beyond Viagra and antibiotics in a Mexican tourist town, here are two tips:
Learn enough spanish to ask for what you want...ex. "Quiero comprar unos calmantes, como xanax. Tienes aqui?"
Don't bother with the biggest or centrally located farmacias...just wander around (with an eye on your personal safety of course) and try some back-alley ones.
