Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has had  bad reactions from suboxone?  The first week I felt great and now the 2nd week I just feel sick all the time. The chilling and sweating and not wanting to even get out of bed. I feel like I have the flu and maybe I do, but this has been going on now for about 4 days and now I think it is something to do with the suboxone. I will be calling the doc tomorrow on monday to let them know what is going on. I have a appt. on wed. and thur. both, but don't think I can wait till then. So if anyone has had the same reactions or anything like that I would like to know , please.

                       Thanks Everyone,

my son

took suboxone for a few weeks, he acted very strange and said he felt sick towards the end of the day. But he was changed to methadone because of the price. He's 21 and weighed around 170 before sub. after sub. 145LBS! Now with methadone, hes back to his normal weight and acts normal again. Everyone reacts diffrent to meds. Maybee your not getting enough or maybee too much? Call your doctor tomorrow (monday) anyway. Let us know what happends :) ~Deanna

suboxone

Thanks Deanna,  Not sure what to do either , I have told the doc that i can not afford this med and they keep saying it will be worth it. Even if it made me feel on top of the world, I still can't pay 550 dollars a month. That is just crazy,lol... I have been on methadone before and yes it is something I can afford, I would think the doc would understand that I am on disability and no way can afford the suboxone.  Well I will let you know what the doc says tomorrow and again Thanks,

Kurt.....  I think you're

Kurt.....  I think you're taking to much.   I thought you said earlier you take 8mg every 8 hours?    thats way...too much

suboxone lasts for 36hours.   You should only need 1 8mg pill every morning.   Plus It will make your meds last longer

Many of us on here have come

Many of us on here have come to the conclusion that less is more when it comes to suboxone.  I recommend taking one in the Morn.  or taking half in the am and the other half in the pm.  try it out.  I believe that any more than16mg per day is way overkill.  And you'll have headaches for the first few weeks, which will go away in about a month.

I have had personal experience...

Hey Kurt,

I used to be on suboxone and my boyfriend too. We were perscribed to the suboxone that is orange. My boyfriend and I felt okay for the first couple days, but then we started to experience nausea, fatigue, and stomach aches etc,(flu-like symptons). We felt like complete poo. All we could do was lay around and watch T.V. We couldn't even get up without feeling ill. So, eventually we told our doctors and he had said that it is very rare, but some people get sick from the coloring agent that is used on the pill to make it orange. (And as I know and was told by the doctor, the orange suboxone blocks you from getting high off opiates. So as many opiates that you intake to get high; It doesn't matter because the sub. blocks it.) So, my point is that we both were given suboxone that was white...and does not include the chemical or food dye that is in the orange ones. And the white ones do not have the blocker in it, so that is why the doctor was reluctant to give out the white subs. instead of the orange ones. At least, that is what I was told by the doctor. (I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the coloring of the pill that makes you sick. But, if it is not the coloring of the pill then it is something else in the orange subs. that make you sick.

Once my boyfriend and I were switched to the other kind of suboxone, then we didn't feel sick anymore. It was great. But, in the end, we both switched to using methadone because we moved 1300 miles away. And they didn't have any places that had suboxone. Most places did not even know what suboxone was. But, then we were told about methadone clinics, and luckily there was one very close to where we lived.

Anyway, I hope I could give you some useful advice. And, maybe you could ask your doctor about the suboxone that is white. Hopefully, that will resolve your problem and you will not feel sick all the time. And beleive me, I know exactly what you're talking about.

Sub

Less is defienetly more. I can make an 8mg pill last more than 1, even 2 days. It shocks me that doctors put people on 2-3 8mg pills a day. Less is definetely more. You are trying to not be dopesick, so you can go to work, be with family, continue life, not get wasted on suboxone... And it has weird side effects (because of the naltrexe sp?), so a high dose would potentiate these side effects I would think.

My .02, I am not a doctor.
