Is there a way to tell how much the milligam dose for a methadone pill by the color and shape? Thsi one is white, round, with a split, and 52/142. Wondering how many milli

54 142 is Methadone
54 142 is Methadone Hydrochloride, a white tablet made by Roxane Laboratories. (Active Ingredients: methadone hydrochloride 10 mg)

10 mg
it is definately a 10 mg methadone. 5mg have 54/ 210, and 40 mg wafers are huge and are scored so that it can be broken into 4- 10mg doses. All the methadone that I have see have been white. the new 10mg pills are rectangle shaped, but i'm not sure of the numbers on them.

Rectangle Methadone Pills
I will clear this one up for ya'll :) The new ones are rectangular with an "M" in a box on one side and on the other side it has 57 and it's scored in half with a 71 on the other half. I don't think they work as well as the methadose but it could just be me and my imagination. Anyone else agree?

once again, that info has been on the board for a while, which is why i was confused, i guess i was under the impression that htis was some kind of "brand spanking new" info and it wasn't. but i do have some clarity now as to what the poster was refering to.

Most of the methadone ive come across was either Orange square wafers,White wafers that say Methadose, and smaller white round tablets which are almost always 10mg tablets

as of this past winter there
as of this past winter there was a methadone clinic in ashville, nc that was providing 40 mg waffers for their patients that fit this discription exactly, except with theirs i believe the patients were supposed to disolve them in water and take while at the clinic, except for the weekends when they were given "take home doses" and then they could take them w/ or w/out water, i suppose.
it is odd that it is no longer listed on their site. i would think that they are still making them or some form of 40 mg dosage. but who knows. i will try to call them tommorow.

Well...there are 2 clinics
Well...there are 2 clinics in Asheville. One doses with the Orange/peach colored, quarter scored, 40mg wafers made by Lilly and the one I go to dispenses the white, quarter scored, 40mg methadose tablets made by Mallinkrodt (spelling). The one I belong to gives 2 options, liquid Methadose or the wafer methadose disolved in water or tang which is how the orange/peach colored Lilly wafers are supposed to be administered. Luck for the folks that get their stuff in whole pill form going to a clinic. Even if you take it the same way it seems for us addict types "better" somehow. And I did mean that for us addict types...not meaning to call someone an addict that wasnt =P

These are all Methadone made from Mallinckrodt. I believe all photos are current.
The 40mg Methadone is round, imprinted 'Methadose 40':
The 5mg Methadone is rectangular, imprinted '[M] 5755'
The 10mg Methadone is also rectangular, imprinted '[M] 5771'
