No markings on the other side, just "C 118". I've checked many resources with no luck. It looks alot like Famotidine(same layout of the letter and numbers), but it is definitely "C 118". It is very small. I have a photo if you need it. Thanks.

C119, C120, but no C118

I've had no luck finding this imprint. C 119 is famotidine 20 mg, and C 120 is famotidine 40 mg, both manufactured by Par Pharmaceuticals. I'd wager that this is the OTC dose of 10 mg. But I can't be certain at all. This is only a guess. I imagine one of the pill id gurus like 'Stallion' or 'Kirby' may be able to definitively answer this question.

C118 Pill Identification

Hi dtrex71,

I agree with mitomac's guess that C 118 is over-the-counter 10 mg famotidine.

But I can't find definite proof. All the databases I have access to don't have this imprint. But that's not unusual. OTC imprints are hard to find, especially when they are relatively new.

I will call Par Pharmaceutical this week. When I get an answer, I'll post again.

C118 is still a mystery

I spoke with both Par Pharmaceutical and Dr. Reddy's Labs today.

Par does not distribute any OTC drugs and doesn't know what C 118 is but did refer me to Dr. Reddy's.

Dr. Reddy's rep has no information on C 118 and doesn't think it's Dr. Reddy's pill. But she will check with corporate since it's possible that she doesn't have all the imprints. If she finds more info, she will call me back this week.

Sorry - but the mystery is still unsolved.

C118 Mystery - C119 and C120 Known

Thanks for the picture, dtrex71. Here is a montage of the three pills we've talked about in this thread:

[=10px]Original image C118 courtesy of dtrex71[/]
[=10px]Original images C119 and C120 from www.express-scripts.com[/]

The imprint styles on each pill look exactly the same - especially the shapes of the "C" and the "1" and the angles of the numbers around the bottom perimeter. I think we will find out that C118 is Dr. Reddy's pill. Maybe it's not OTC famotidine as thought, but it appears to be something made by the company.

That little pill has been around

Great pic, dtrex71. It looks like that little feller has seen some traveling days. Reminds of the traveling lawn gnome pictures. You the know, the ones where someone steals a lawn gnome and travels all over the world taking pictures of it next to famous landmarks. I can just picture little 'C 118' at the eiffel tower, or on the great wall of china.

It was found in a parking lot

It was found in a parking lot, and appears to have been trodden upon. It was so small I couldn't make out the markings with the naked eye, but the picture helps, and I looked at it under a microscope. I thought it might have been 113, but after the close up I'm sure it's 118. It also has some of the pink scraped off the back and I can see white beneath it so it is coated if that helps.

update

I found a poster on the Drugs.com forum asking about the same tablet on 9/20/04. He had no replies. I e-mailed him to see if he ever ID'ed it.

I also found a tablat that is imprinted with "118", maybe a different Manufacturer made the one I found? Its in my image gallery or click the link below. It's Labetalol 300mg.

Further C118 Update

The new image - E118 - is indeed 300 mg labetalol. It's made by Eon Labs, a different manufacturer. It's definitely not your pill.

This morning Sandy from Dr. Reddy's Labs called and asked me to forward your picture to her email address. I sent the three-picture montage so she could see how the imprints are similar. Sandy is very helpful, and I'm sure she will do all she can to identify the mystery tablet.

As soon as I hear from Sandy, I'll let you know.

Pink Pill Imprinted C118

Mystery solved - finally!

Round pink tablet imprinted C 118 is 10 mg famotidine made by Dr. Reddy's Labs.

The package I found is distributed by Target. The box is clearly marked "made in India" and simply says "heartburn prevention, acid reducer, famotidine tablets usp, 10 mg"
