First off, this is a true story, so bear with me. The other day my DAD came home(I'll not tell how he came into possession of this pill) and showed me 1 cherry red(the color of Big Red gum) pill. It was slightly smaller than an Apuarin 10mg Valium, and had a 5-pointed star imprinted into it, on one side and nothing on the other. I told him I thought it was X, but having never taken X I'm not sure. He was told it was a mix of 2 popular street drugs, neither of which was MDMA. I told him to flush it. He said he did but I'm not convinced.
To my questions:
1) Does that sound like a "brand" of X.
2) If he didn't flush it would I be able to tell if he was on it? What would I look for?
He stayed locked in his room and skipped work today. Could he have taken it today and stayed out of site so I wouldn't be able to tell he took it? From what I've read MDMA is very risky, especially when you don't know where it came from.
Sorry if this post is improper but he reads the other forums I belong to and I don't want him to see this.

If he didnt go to work and stayed in his room all day, I'm guessing he took or did something he doesnt want you to see/know about. What exactly did the pill look like again. About the size of a valium and what was imprinted on it again. Did it seem solid or was it kind of powdery? Was it solid red like a cherry gumball or a muttled muted red kind of like a stick of big red with a kind of white powdery looking surface? If it was ecstacy, the fact that you know he is alive and well makes me think if he did take it, he probably just felt good for a few hours and is now going to be "e-tarded" for the next day or so. He will probably be a little down in the dumps and not want to do much of anything or feel like talking. This will go away and he should feel/be normal again by 24 hours max. Red colored ecstacy pills are usually cut with heroin or some other opiate so they can be particularly dangerous as it is mixing downers and uppers. or so I have heard from former "raver" friends I knew in high school. I would have a heart to heart and ask him honestly as you just want to know the truth. Dont get mad. One way to tell if he was on it and it was ecstacy was he would be really open and lovey dovey with you. He wouldnt want to stay locked up in his room. He would want to come out and talk and probably wouldnt shut up. Mostly about how much he loves you and everyone else around and how beaytiful everything is. he would also proabaly be interested in going out in public and would be chatting up everyone he came in contact with. He would just be overly friendly and flamboyant followed later by a more subdued somewhat depressed state where he might become somewhat emotional.(Evene more than before, but more sad) This is how he would most likely be acting if he had indeed taken ecstacy. Sorry to ramble, but I just wanted to give you a very clear picture of how to actually determine what may have happened with/to this mystery pill that was supposedly flushed. Also, does your dad often hibernate in his room and/or miss work? Or was this a rare occurance? Feel free to private msg. me if you like. Good Luck!

Like I said
Strange situation. I have been listening to the Dead since I was a teenager. I'm not naive about most meds or drugs but I stayed away from all amphetamines and hard-core opiates. I use wharfrat as my screen name because I love the song and although I'm not a member of the wharfrats I am clean and sober, for the most part.
If you think you're confused, put yourself in my shoes. My Dad brings home a mystery pill, that looks like X would, and told me it was X. But he thought it was a speedball, in a pill not MDMA.
Does your post mean it was X?

He often skips work and stays in seclusion. He did fall asleep about an hour after he supposedly flushed it but that doesn't fit with X, right? It was solid had a 5 pointed star imprinted, really indented, into it and was solid red like a cherry gumball. He was told Heroin was in it and asked me what I thought it would do to him. I told him I've heard it makes everything seem great and your post seems to back that up.
Maybe he took it when he woke up at 12am and I was asleep. Tat would explain his depressed mood today, although he's always moody. I'm just concerned that my Dad is turning into an addict and will fail a DT at work. I've never know him to use hard drugs and was shocked at what he brought to show me.

Umm, if he's taking to the streets and buying pills, chances are he probably is an addict. Why your father would ask his son "what do you think this pill that supposedly has heroin in it will do to me" is beyond comprehension to me.
However, just because it's a ridiculous thread anyhow, I'm going to try to ID this tablet. Does it look like this?

That is the same marking. I remember the color as a slightly darker red, but I only saw it for maybe 20 sec. I don't know why he does what he does other then he must be an addict.

Color
A lot of times, when photographing a pill, the pill looks slightly darker/softer than the original pill for some reason.
The link lists what the tablet is, but I don't know jack about Ecstasy, so if you do, you can probably interpret what it means. I don't want to know though, I don't really have an interest in Ecstasy. It'll probably never be prescribed to anyone I know.
