found these pills and can't find them anywhere on the interney... regular imprint sites etc. have even googled the imprint code and no such luck. I will try to post pics. when possible. The first ones are capsules, one side is dark red other side is brown. The imprint seems weird to me, it's A-217 (yes that's exactly how it's printed. It's printed in white once on the left & right side of it.
The second pill I also have had no luck finding it in the drug identification site. This one is also a capsule; it is black and a greenish/turqoise color (i have some prob. differentiating between green,blue & turqois. Anyway the black side has the imprint 959 in white. The turqoise half has par in white also.
Any help with this would be really appreciated.

I can't find anything in the databases for A-217.
But a search at the National Drug Code directory found a possibility. The capsule might be RIFAMPIN CAPSULES 300 MG made by Amide (Actavis). Amide often uses a " - " between A and three numbers.
If your capsule is rifampin, it's probably pretty old. I didn't see where this imprint has been discontinued but it was approved before 1982. There aren't too many manufacturers of rifampin since it's a speciality antibiotic. It is used along with another agents (never alone) to treat or prevent TB. And it's sometimes used alone to treat carriers of meningitis.

thank-you for searching for it. i wouldn't doubt that your correct in what it is. The place i'm moving into was previously occupied by the previous owners dying grandfather so who knows. thank-you for finding what you did i couldn't find any mention of it at all.
CHLORDIAZEPOXIDE (Librium®, Libritabs®) is a benzodiazepine. Benzodiazepines belong to a group of medicines that slow down the central nervous system. Chlordiazepoxide relieves anxiety and nervousness. It can also help people with alcohol withdrawal. Federal law prohibits the transfer of chlordiazepoxide to any person other than the patient for whom it was prescribed. Do not share this medicine with anyone else. Generic chlordiazepoxide capsules are available, but not tablets.
