I get percocet 7.5's prescribed to me, but I ran out a couple days early just a few days before my next appointment. My friend said that his dad had just went to the V A (Veteran's Hospital) and was prescribed percocet 5 mgs. He brought me a couple and I wasn't sure about them. They were round and white like other percocets that I have seen and they had a line cut through the center of one side on the same side it had the numbers 44 over 148. The back side was completley blank. He said they tasted like percocets and that they made him feel like a percocet does, but I still wasn't convinced. I have been trying to find out what they are and tonight I finally found the same description on this site, but no pcture, however, under this description this tablet was identified as 500 mg acetaminophen, generic extra-strength Tylenol.
I was just wanting to know if anyone knew for sure that this was what this medication was or if anyone has seen or heard of a percocet 5 mg from the V A Hospital that fits this description.
If you have please let me know!
So are you saying that the pills imprinted with 44 over 148 are just generic Acetaminophen @ 500mg per pill that are just dispensed from some Pharmacy instead of bought OTC? No Oxycodone or Hydrocodone or anything? If so, would you happen to have a link to some info on that I could maybe print out to show someone or even just read to myself? Any help would be vey much appreciated! Thanks in advance!
44 148 is Acetaminophen, a round, flat, scored white tablet made by Lnk. (Active Ingredients: acetaminophen 500 mg)
This
is a common generic imprint of Tylenol. Available OTC from
a variety of sources. There is nothing special or unique about
these pills.
Thank ya
1st You were misinformed. You were never prescribed Percocet 7.5s because there is no such thing. You were most likely prescribed hydrocodone 7.5mg and acetaminophen 750 mg. secondly, If you would have taken your 7.5 mg whatever properly you would have never needed to ask your friend to short his dad (Obviously a veteran) of his probably much needed medication The description you gave was just that Tylenol..No Oxycontin, No Percocet, No Hydrocodone...Just plain tylenol!!!

Some clarification:
According to the manufacturer Endo Pharmaceuticals, Percocet 7.5 exists. In fact, there are two formulas:
Percocet® 7.5/325 mg tablets CII (oxycodone/APAP)
Percocet® 7.5/500 mg tablets CII (oxycodone/APAP)
Endocet (generic Percocet) is also made in the same two formulas by the same manufacturer.
I stand corrected on the existence of Percocet 7.5.. And so I retract that part of my reply in the interest of fairness. As for the rest, I let it stand as written Thank You Team Pharmer!!
Team Pharmer..I don't find percocet 7.5 / Acet in the DEA Schedule II listings. Is this product perhaps only available in foreign markets i.e. Canada or mexico? I know that several american pharmaceutical companies make products that they export only, Is this one of those products?
J. Hastings,
Look under Oxycodone in Schedule II, and you will
see the common brand names on the right side of the
schedule. The list is not exhaustive - there are a few brands
that are not on the schedule such as Endocet and Combunox. But
they are Schedule II substances regardless.
Percocet and Endocet are available in the US in several dosage forms. And, according to Health Canada Percocet 2.5/325, Percocet 5/325 and Endocet 5/325 are available in Canada as well.
I don't think Percocet or Endocet is available in Mexico. Someone please correct me if this is not true. Thank you.

Yep, It is definately Acetaminophen 500mg
