Switching to a different brand of Norcos

I've been going to my pain mngt. Dr. for alomost a year now and was started on Lortab 7.5 3x a day and was moved up to Norco 10/325 4x a day. Well the first 2 rx's I received were the Qualitest brand norcos which I was very satisfied with. Well last month I went to fill my prescription and the pharmacy didnt tell me they were no longer carrying the Qualitest and were now carrying the Interpharm brand norcos. I didnt notice the change until about an hour later when I took my first pill...so I went back to the pharmacy and they explained to me the change.  While I feel the Interpharm brand does provide relief I would prefer to get the Qualitest brand this month...my appointment is this wednesday. My question is can I let the pharmacy know that I would like them to order the qualitest brand for me today or will I have to wait until wednesday after my appointment when i get my prescription? Im sure it wouldnt be a big hassle for the pharmacy to do this but Im sure I would have to wait a day or two for them to get in. I'm just apprehensive about going 2 days without any medication so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again and Happy Holidays to all.

Well the pharmacist already

Well the pharmacist already has you on file that you get the prescription for the norco so i'm sure that if you explain that you are going to your doctor in a few days for the next prescription and ask for them to order them so you can get them in time that they would have no problem. That is all assuming they are even willing to order the other brand for you.

I am also prescribed norco

I am also prescribed norco 10/325mg and usually get either that qualitest or watson brand both of which I'm very satisfied with. This fill, I opened the bottle to find white instead of yellow pills. At first I thought it was the wrong thing and went backinto the pharmacy. I found out they had switched to mallinckrodt and due to thehorrible reputation they have I am wondering if I can get them to replace them with the qualitest of watson generic. I have heard one out of 50 people say they prefer the mall over the qualitest/watson, and they other 49, vice versa. This cannopt be a coincidence. Who has had bad experiences with mallinckrodts generic norco?

You have no chance

You have no chance trying to get your pills swapped out once you leave the pharmacy with them. From what I understand not only is it illegal for them to take them back but also unethical. Even if you have a good relationship with your pharmacist, hows he/she suppose to know 100% for sure, that you didnt alter them in anyway. You could always try though. Im pretty sure that the pharmacist can take them back, "destroy" the tablets and reissue new ones. But you would have to pay for the new ones. I highly doubt they will even do this unless you have a really good relationship with the pharmacist. Unless the new pills are causing side effects that the old ones werent. Like nausea, headaches or stomach upset, side effects that could be blamed on the tablets having different inactive ingredients. Ive read others posters being able to pull this off.
