I just re-read your post... you are already taking 10/325..but I stiill would not take 6 of them.. I would try getting something stronger. Sorry for the mistake :)
TDonchess - you don't mention why you are taking these meds. Have you been in an accident or are you a CP patient? If, for your pain relief, you are taking 5 or 6 at one time, (whether they be Watson or Malli's), you are still taking a Hydrocodone product. If your pain relief means you need to take that many at one time, maybe you should talk to your Dr and see if he/she will Rx you something with oxycodone in it. IMO, as I think many of the top posters on here will agree, oxycodone helps reieve the pain much better than the hydro's do. Also, there is a very long post on this site were many people swear that the Mallinckrodts are an inferior product compared to other manufacturers. That's just my input. I'm sure some of the other posters on here can give you better details. Hope things work out ok with you. AIP
to tell u the truth i was in a car accident didnt have insurance or a dr never got the rieght treatment and have been hurting since and i get the meds form a buddy of mine but i do now have insurance and i will be seeing a dr and getting a prescription and the right tereantment thank u all soo very much for your info
In my experience, the Mallinckrodt brand is one of the worst brands for Hydrocodone medication. I have to take more of the M's versus the Watson or even Qualitest equivalents. I know that CVS fills with the Mallinckrodt brand, and that is why I do not fill at that pharmacy. Here is Texas, most pharmacies do use Watson, as they are the best that I have tried. Always ask the pharmacy which brand they use so that you will not be disappointed nor under medicated. A script of the Mallinckrodts will not last me the entire month versus the other ones.
---chuck---what everyone taking these percocets should,if you are kind of abusing and not getting the same feeling from your normal dose, take a day off or two,its not that hard, and the next time you do take one, youll really feel it and be like yeaaaa, this is what is feels like, dont drain all your seratonin all at once space it out,let it recooperate, its worth it,,hope this helps
---chuck---i realize i didnt really answer the question, watson is waaay stronger than mallinckrodt, but endo is stronger than both in my opinion
I've always tried my best to stay away from any medication made by Mallinckrodt. They just don't measure up usually, and they tend to make the situation of your monthly allotment of pain meds (in my case) being used much faster than they should. When I was starting taking Hydro or Oxy meds, I would try to take Endo or Watson. I'm on Methadone now and I prefer Roxane.
The Watson 853 is hydrocodone and the M 523 is Mallinkrodt Oxycodone....the hydro is a schedule 3 drug and the Oxycodone is a schedule 2 drug I believe. Oxycodone is a stronger med than hydrocodone, so there naturally would be a noticeable difference in the two. There has been alot of controversy on this site about the different brands and which one is best. Everyone seems to have a different slant and prefer one particular brand, be it generic or brand name. I have been prescribed 10/660 hydrodone for several years and have tried the different brands. To me it seems the Qualitest brand has the edge with the longest lasting pain relief IMHO, but everyone has their own opinion. You should always consult your physician about the dosage of your meds and never just take more if they don't seem to be working, as it can be dangerous. Also too much acetaminophen can damage your liver, as was mentioned above.
I was going to say the same thing. one is hydro and one is oxy.

In my experience, Watson is a better brand than Mallinkrodt (sp..) , but that is just me. I would not advise taking more than it tells you to take because hydrocodone is a mix of Tylenol and a narcotic, and too much Tylenol is really bad for you. If what you have is not working for you, talk to you doctor and see if he can prescribe something else, like Norco, which is 10/325, it does not have nearly as much Tylenol in it.
