My sister has been in the hospital now for 36 day's. Two day's ago they started weaning her off Oxycontin & Oxycodeine. She is more fuzzy headed now than before. When you ask her too many questions she becomes fearful & stressed out. Especially if she doesn't know the answers. I'm frustrated. i thought without the medications she would become more clear headed. How long do those drugs stay in your system???

Well when my friend went to

Well when my friend went to his doctor about his opiate addiction to start on a suboxone treatment his doctor gave him xanax 1mg QID because he said that it is normally accepted that some people trying to stop taking opiates have higher levels of anxiety, so perhaps she should talk to her doctor about a benzodiazepine such as xanax or ativan as they should her out and relieve some stress/anxiety.

That was info from a doctor however from my point of view and personal experience I get very moody and easily aggitated when i am withdrawing from opiates but it goes away in a couple days depending on the severity of the addiction. Thankfully I am a recovering addict and dont even touch opiates anymore.

What is she in the hospital

What is she in the hospital for?  It may be something other than weaning the narcotics that is causing her to be fuzzy-headed.   Benzodiazapines and other medications to help with anxiety or withdrawal symptoms can also cause fuzzy-headedness, sleepiness, and confusion.
