I don't know that it would

I don't know that it would show up the same as would heroin would, but yes, Suboxone will show up in a drug screen as a positive for opiates.  I suppose it all depends on how in-depth the screen is as to whether or not they show the different "types" of opiates alone.

ok

thanks for the help. this test is not in depth. it is just your regular test with one for cocaine one for marijunia one for opiates one for benzos one for alcohol. so i would think it show up like herion. an opiate is an opiate.

two opiates

Suboxone contains two opiates, buprenorphine and naloxone.  Though buprenorphine does have some dramatic structural differences from other opiates, naloxone is structurally similar to the typical opiates.

Suboxone and Urine Opiate Screens

Suboxone/Subutex will NOT show up on a general opiate screen. It will only show up on a screen which tests specifically for the active narcotic in Suboxone/Subutex (buprenorphine). No fully synthetic opiate will show up on a general screen (e.g. methadone, fentanyl, meperedine). Take it to the bank! :-)
